Books You'd Like to See Adapted to Movies

Yeah, I know, another post about books *and* movies. (What can I say, books and movies are two of my loves!) I'm curious, what are some books that you'd like to see made into movies?

My pick: The Postmortal by Drew Magary

reply

Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy
And maybe a worthwhile adaptation of The Dark Tower series.

reply

I second Blood Meridian. McCarthy is brilliant. Haven't read Dark Tower yet (been meaning to for years) but I've heard it's good.

reply

The Kama Sutra

Robert Heinlein's novel, Glory Road

reply

With you in the main role, huh?

reply

In both films, yes. I AM the main role. The protagonist in Glory Road gets a lot of ass, O Goddess.

reply

the antagonist I bet

reply

Can I have a bit part?

reply

You can have a BIG part . . .

EDIT Strat, there's something I need to add to our chat here, not so much for you, but for someone who is growing in importance to me. This is only the two of us horsing around. If she saw it, 99 percent certain she would know that automatically and laugh her butt off; but I don't believe in taking chances with the feelings of someone who matters to me. I don't ever want to come within a million miles of upsetting--let alone hurting--her. Strat, you are great, but she is the only woman right now who interests me both as a woman and a friend. You interest me as a friend.

reply

Oh goodie, I won't disappoint you! Do I need to shave?

reply

Armpits and legs, yes, please. Elsewhere is optional.

reply

Thank goodness! You'll send me the script when it's finished, right?

reply

See, that's the beauty of the book-to-movie paradigm: You can read the books and know what is going to happen. And, anyway, we're mostly going to improv The Kama Sutra. I'll be jetting ton The Netherlands to begin rehearsals.

reply

Oh, so you're not going to do an alternate twist ending sort of thing?

I can't wait to practice my...positions. I suppose I don't have any lines?

reply

I thought we'd do several lines before each run-through.

reply

If that helps you to perform. I'm a natural talent, though.

reply

I need no help to perform, other than being in the gym 4 or 5 days a week. I like staying hard.

reply

You're such a pro! Just like me!

reply

Catcher in the Rye. You'd need narration though. It could work if done well. Done in the style of the Brit comedy series Peep Show.

reply

What about boobs we'd like to see adapted into movies? Kaley Cuoco's for example.

reply

Judy Blume's "Blubber", I would change the ending to where "Blubber" gets her redemption and the main bully (Wendy) gets her comeuppance

reply

"Going Wrong" by Ruth Rendell

They produced an abomination in the UK.

I'm thinking a full production in the U.S.
