What song makes you cry?

I was listening to my CD of Sting singing Fields of Gold and it always makes me cry remembering my lost love.

Chocolate Genius - My Mom
A song about his mom's struggles with dementia.

reply

I could only watch half of this. By the time it got to "and my mom, she don't remember my name," well ...

Never heard of Chocolate Genius before. Great voice. Eventually I'll forgive you for making me cry today.

reply

Sorry Cat.

It's a very touching song. Especially for those who have had this touch their life.

reply

Very touching. I haven't even had this touch my life personally, and couldn't make it all the way through the song.

He does have a great voice though, and I'd like to hear more. Any song recommendations?

Damn you Dewey, I've had to forgive you already!

reply

I'm glad you forgave me.

Wouldn't be much of an existence with you not forgiving me.
I mean a life without cats and books. I just couldn't imagine.

reply

You're too adorable to not forgive, which is a curse to your friends and has to be especially to your GF!

*slightly grudging smooch*

reply

Not the first I've been told that. I know it's hard to believe.
With that one I get a lot of looks and head shakes.

Right back at you.
I'll add in a huge hug.

reply

Color me completely unsurprised you've been told this before. No doubt by hoards of people.

GF is one smart cookie. She knows all that's required are the looks and head shakes.

Thanks for the big hug. Much appreciated. ... Hey, are you going to ask me for $20 now? Not that I wouldn't pay it, and more.

reply

Hugs for you are always gratis.

In fact I feel I should be paying.

reply

Aw, and ditto that.

Don't take the girl

This always makes me weep. It is the most beautiful song in my opinion.

Eydie Gorme - It Takes Too Long to Learn to Live Alone.

Hadn't heard this one before. Beautiful.

Imagine, John Lennon

I Will Always Love You, Whitney Houston

At Last, Etta James

Sting's Fields of Gold is a great choice!

reply

At Last πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Love that one. Heck, they're all good.

reply

Bright Eyes - Art Garfunkel.

Thanks, Watership Down.

Another personal favourite is Harry Nilsson's What'll I do?

reply

Nice one. I've always liked his voice. πŸ‘

reply

Me too, and maybe even more on this album because his voice was kind of shot at that point, making these songs all the more poignant.

Nice to meet someone else who even knows who he is, these days!

reply

I worked for a music distributor back when he was hitting the charts. Sad that he died so young at 52.

reply

That must have been a very interesting job, especially since it was right in the middle of LA's golden age of music. Yes, very sad. He deserves to be better known than he is.

reply

It was. I learned a lot and got introduced to a lot of music I might have otherwise ignored.
