Famous for Being Famous

This has been going on forever.
People who really don't have any talent or don't bring anything to the table.
It's apparent now more than ever with all the reality stuff.

Some old school ones

Zsa Zsa Gabor
Kitty Carlisle
Charro

Some newer ones
Paris Hilton
All of the Kardashians

Who you can you name?

reply

Marilyn Monroe was heading in the famous for being famous direction before her death,

reply

I'm seeing a pattern here hownos.

Monroe, Mansfield, Smith

Do you have something against these types of ladies or
is it these types of ladies that inevitability end up in this category?

That's the hundred dollar question.

reply

The second part - we are seeing the same thing with Pamela Anderson.

reply

It seems these actress's have a span of about 15 years give or take.

The difference is Monroe actually had talent.
She doesn't get credit but she was a good actress.
Mansfield was not bad either. She really wasn't given much of a chance.

The other two I agree with.

Who's next?
Who In 10 or 15 years will fit into this category.

reply

I never considered Monroe a talented actress. She had a certain on screen appearance because of her beauty which seemed to mesmerize men.

I have to think about your question - not many current day blonde bombshell types come to mind.

reply

I don't think she gets the respect she's entitled to.

In the beginning she was type cast to be sure.
Most actors/actress are.
In her comedies she always played the "dumb blonde". Not as easy as it appears.
Later on, when given the chance she showed she did have a talent.
Niagara, Bus Stop, Don't Bother to Knock, River of No Return all show she had the
capability of being a good actress.

I'm not saying she would have been a legend but I think she had much more
talent than given credit for.
Unfortunately this is part of what led to her downfall. Nobody took her seriously.

reply

MM was indeed talented, but like so many "starlets" she was exploited.
I feel so sorry for her. She was passed around the Kennedy bros, too.
Jayne Mansfield had a hard life.

reply

The 1953 edition of Playboy featuring her is considered to be the most valuable. And that's current and has to mean something.

reply

I'm with you.

The most valuable does have to count for something.

While not the best actress ever she wasn't that bad.
She also never had a chance to show what talent she had.
Dying at such a young age in such a horrible way.

reply

Paris Hilton. BTW, I like her hotels.

😎

reply

Those pricks the Kardashians are idiots.

reply

I'm happy to say I've never seen that show or
wouldn't be able to match up the names with the faces.

reply

Oh either have I seen it.
