If you had to give an Oscar to a single performance what would it be?

Either the best performance ever or maybe your favorite performance will do.
A performance that shows true versatility.

One of my choices would be

William Hurt in Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Paul Scofield as Thomas More in "A Man For All Seasons". Amazing. Simply amazing.

Excellent choice.

One of my top 10 favorite movies of all time.
First saw it when I was just a kid.
