Well, if you've been reported isn't his "job" to e-mail you? Just saying... But I wouldn't know of his character, since I haven't been reported. Yet. To the best of my knowledge.

I don't think mods should let someone know every time someone reports them. They should decide first if the report has merit (many reports do not have merit, especially here where it seems like certain people constantly flag eachother like Itchy and Scratchy).
And then if the mod determines that the complaint is valid and serious, that it's not just a juvenile slap fight, THEN they can warn the person.
Think of it like a parent with two little kids that are just constantly tattling on eachother and 99% of it is stupid tattletale bullshit. They need to be able to tell what is bullshit and what is serious.
But this system requires the mod to have good judgement.
I've seen those "I reported you for _insert something stupid here_" comment piss matches. I don't see the appeal to be honest. But you know, different strokes...
But, yes, it would make sense that you wouldn't get an e-mail if it's not merited. Now I do wonder though if someone _has_ hit the "report" on me!
We like to joke, but it must be difficult making some of these judgments.
It is difficult to sort out the signal from the noise, and just like the parent analogy there are times when a mod is just sick and tired of the bickering and sends both kids to their rooms, even if one might be more guilty than the other (on that particular occasion). They just want some fricken peace so they might punish both.
Hey, the little child tattletate analogy is so on point you gave me an idea. They should have make a slapfest thread (or a branch) invisible to all users except both of perpetrators. It would waste their time and imagine what would their faces like when they finally realized that nobody even see their "winnings" all this time. Lol.

About, there isn't any way. Well, not unless you log out and then read, but that defeats the point of having an ignore list.
To, we get the notifications even if we have someone on our ignore list and they reply to us.

I see it the other way around. The person who troubles themselves to write a thread to the people they have or allegedly have on their ignore lists are the ones showing the people they have on ignore have gotten under their skin, or why bother?
To those who've replied to said person in hopes of getting a rise out of ignorer, all this does is wave a red flag for them to do it more often, because this shows they've succeeded.
In the case of the OP, who early on put me on ignore -- too hastily, but hey, it's her or his choice to do so -- I can only think of one instance where I replied directly to her or him, after knowing I was put on ignore, unless I was responding to the content of the post for other people to read, not to the OP.
Bottom line, you can't prevent anyone from replying to your posts/threads, even if you have them on ignore. It's not anything you can control.
I saw the stupidity of that one early on.

Too bad. I liked the way it was on IMDb better, where you could see someone on your ignore list had responded, but the rest of the replies were visible.
Come to think on it, I'd prefer someone on one's ignore lists replies were invisible, *and* you could still see the replies of everyone else.
That would be the best of both worlds.
I don't use that feature. I simply try my best avoid you now when I feel the need. This isn't one of those times.

I don't have you on ignore so chill the hell out. And there are two people on this board that don't have a life and what's more, is that they know I have them on ignore yet they still continue to bad mouth me and reply to my threads. They are so stupid for replying to someone that has them on ignore.
Furthermore, I can ignore people if I want to, if I really don't give a dann if I never interact with them again. It's really not worth the hassle of interacting with them or reading whatever they have to say. When I put someone on ignore, it's permanent. The only reason I made this thread is because those people were in a thread of mine making it longer and I could only see half of the replies so I wondered who they were talking to. Well they were writing the same crap that they always do, so honestly this is the last time I log out to read what they write. Just reading their words was a waste of my time. This thread has gotten to be a waste of my time as well. I simply needed to tell them how I felt. Now they know. Issue resolved as far as I'm concerned.
Nobody cares, "barclays." Just as nobody cares who you supposedly have on ignore. The fact you started a thread addressing them speaks to you having no life far more than anyone else. Just reading your rant was a waste of anyone's time. And no thread is "yours." It's a public forum.

Actually, "barclays" only attempts to deflect questions. But since it's so obvious, he/she (whatever it is this week) never succeeds. As far as the negativity and hair-trigger temper, well, again, many know why, but we can't say it directly.
