I'm aware of what creates an eclipse but for some reason never logically connected the phase of the moon to an eclipse. Yeah, I know, it was one of those " Duh! " moments for me, made me feel like an idiot.
What's interesting to me is that a full moon can't occur during a solar eclipse. This reinforces my belief in " intelligent design, " a Creator. I think in the language of the Lakota, when they refer to Wakan Tanka, The Great Spirit, translated as " the power behind the sun, " they had it right. How could human beings possibly cope with the effects of a full moon being quadrupled during a solar eclipse, as RK suggested? And I've been on this earth long enough to know that the phases of the moon definitely affects all of life. Just during this past Shark Week, I saw an episode where scientists were attempting to connect the full moon to what the general public and the media perceived as inexplicable shark behavior.
