What Is A Social Justice Warrior?

shareThe term, which I've only seen or heard used as a pejorative, baffles me. Who, except for a narcissist, would be against social justice, and someone who stands up for it, based solely on the words, or phrase?
Apparently it means more than that, which I could accept if different words or a phrase were used.
I'm amused by GrindOverMatter's definition:
A Social Justice Advocate will see a building without a handicap access ramp and ask to have one added.
A Social Justice Warrior will see the same building and ask for the stairs to be removed.
But I suspect anyone who is a social justice advocate -- a phrase I've never seen used -- would be accused of being a SJW by those of a certain mindset. share
No one is against equality & social justice (unless they are scum) BUT SJW's are not actually for that... SJW's are simple folk with the mindset of blame everything wrong in the world on white males.

He makes some valid points, but then he's doing the same thing he's complaining about others doing. He sounds just like a SJW.

Can you give me an example?
He's complaining about not wanting to be "made" to feel collective guilt about this that and the other thing, whilst collectively ascribing guilt to other groups himself. He's ranting and overly angry about what he feels is a social injustice (SJ+W = SJW), to the point where he's so cheesed off, he felt he needed to make a YouTube about it And BTW, no one's *making* him feel anything. As difficult as this may be for people like him to believe, most white males do not feel they're "made" to feel collective guilt, because they're smart enough to know that unless they are actually guilty of doing or having done any of these things, they have no reason to feel guilt, so it simply doesn't apply to them.
It's the same coin, simply the other side.
