There is barely anyone here and this mod keeps bugging me every time I have an argument. I'm sorry, isn't this a discussion board? I'm not allowed to speak my mind? He called it "trolling" because some babies reported my posts when they lost an argument. It's unreal.
I want to support this site, but if I can't even have a discussion, what is the point? I just don't know if I'm the only one this is happening to.
A lot of these people are. I've been on these boards too long, I know a company man when I see one. You have the right to like the movie if you want, but to raise such ridiculously stupid rebuttals to points I've made to polish the turd seems a tad suspicious.
So,with all due respect,if you don't enjoy the film why are you posting on that board? I mean you've obviously got every right to do so but if it's making you so angry (and yes! You do seem very angry) why would you continue?
Well, moderator 2 told me that i spaming other members by using too many symbols.I told him that i am a short talking person, and i use emoji to expres my feelings instead of words.
But if he's concentrated on counting emojis while at the same time Ben is parading around with several socks under his nose, maybe Mod2 should rethink his priorities.
A couple of times because a crybaby was losing an argument and reported it. Mod 2. Kept saying I violated the rules, but when I asked him for specific examples, he couldn't give one; just kept repeating the same thing and kept dancing around an answer.
Was also beyond obvious he never read the entire thread in question. Also kept saying to use the report button to settle insults; must've repeated it 10 times. The few I did, which were equal to what he claimed I was guilty of, are still up.
Well, on another thread way back when Mod2 first came to be, the question was posed to Mod1 and she (pretty sure it's a she) said yes, Mod2 was legit. That was awhile ago.
I get it: because I called you out for having posted totally incorrect information on the Goodfellas board I "deliberately obfuscates in order to provoke and perpetuate a completely pointless argument".
Wow, somebody as an issue with having their wrong information corrected with actual facts.
Are you going to follow me around the site now......like a troll?
1. At the moment, we can't do anything about the archived threads, as much as we would like to. We know that there is some nasty stuff left over from IMDb, and Jim is looking into a solution.
2. Moderator2 is a real mod. However, he can still make mistakes like everyone else.
3. If you are being "nagged" by us mods, it is only because you don't seem to follow the rules. Again, it is possible for us to make mistakes.
it is only because you don't seem to follow the rules
Mods, Admins and Owners should be held to a hire standard and also follow the rules set forth by the TOS. The nasty archived threads also violate the TOS set forth by MovieChat. Its not the users fault that they have not been deleted yet.
Out of two moderators there is only one person "nagging" users here.
I'm not saying who is right... but if another moderator nags no one... that could also just mean they are too timid to do their job. Nagging too much isn't good... but nagging no one isn't good either. Clearly some people are trolling so one mod might be too lenient... while one might be too harsh.
This guy is just ridiculous. You can't yell at anyone. Come on. I'm a little tired of these snowflakes who must be from California or Seattle who think we all need to live in harmony and not create negative karma...sorry, that's called a hive mind.
I don't mind a healthy debate... but when I see overuse of retread insults such as snowflakes who need their safe space, libtard, cheeto, cuck, teabaggers... I no longer see potential for useful engagement but rather both liberal or conservative talking points on repeat. If you want to complain about a hive mind... then start by using original insults and not prefabricated templates that one can get ad nauseam on their twitter feed.
I specifically chose overused words from both sides to make my point. Insult away... but use something fresh instead of recycling the same old crap over and over.
I also used cheeto... and I'll add murica for balance. All I'm saying is if either side uses those words, I almost always automatically assume they have little new to add and move on to the next comment.
Agree that it depends... but that is my honest kneejerk reaction... I've seen you make decent posts so I'd assume you were in a "fight fire with fire" flame war if I saw your name... but in most cases, when people's opening comment on a news article uses any of these tired cliched insults... I can't help but think... "This person has been deluded by morons liking their facebook posts that repeating the same insults over and over is somehow valuable to mankind, when in reality they've been given the cruel false hope that the reuse of these phrases is clever."
I don't post on FB. In fact, I'm on it maybe once every 2 months. I consider it a colossal waste of time, and couldn't care less who likes what there. As far as me using some tired cliched insults, maybe, but IMO, the words "president trump" are one of the biggest insults to the United States and its people possible. I can't, in good conscience, use that term.
The FB comment wasn't directed at you. What I've noticed is that lonely people go on FB and Twitter and if they put the MAGA tag and use snowflake, libtard... etc... they will automatically get a ton of positive reinforcement even if they don't say anything intelligent. This type of approval becomes addictive and they think if they try it everywhere that it will work very well. Liberals do this too of course but it's especially popular among Trump supporters.
Sorry; thought it was. TBH, and I'll probably get flamed for this, IMO, maybe 2% of any comments on FB are intelligent. Most seem to be meaningless, narcissistic blather.
When I see it, I automatically assume the person has no originality of thought... even though that may not always be true. They do a disservice to their own argument by starting out with that word.
Spot on. Seeing one of those words is just a clue to me to skip the rest. When it consistently comes from the same people, just seeing their name is enough to trigger the skip.
Exactly... the irony is, if they calmly tried to explain their points... I would politely listen and try to absorb some of their information... but once those insults start... it's hard not to just go "Next" and skip to the next comment.

One of the things that attracted posters to this site was the archived IMDb threads.I think we as mature posters have to be adult about this and accept the bad with the good.Eventually they will probably disappear naturally.
I don't know if nagged is the right word, but I've heard from them several times. I brought up the same point. Apparently there are some snowflakes on here who are easily offended. You can debate something, but you do have to be careful.
I remember that time he nagged you and your co-argurer right on the thread itself!! When he first started. Like literally his first or second day on duty. I was like oh good lord!!!!
I used to get hounded by the mods until we came to an agreement of sorts. I bring the beads and they bring the lube. I just wish mod 2 wasn't so rough :(
