How often do you click on NEWS, RUMORS & GOSSIP?
For me, almost never, although I do sometimes click into a thread where someone's made a comment.
You?

I actually check it a few times a day. If there's something interesting, I'll read the article. If I have something to comment on after reading the article, I'll post a reply.
shareReally? I guess I'm just not interested in news, rumors, or gossip. Not that I'm complaining about the feature, as I suppose it could be a good conversation-starter.
I'm just curious how many people here click on the tab.
I do once in a while if it looks interesting and if I see that anyone else has posted. As you say, it is sort of a good conversation starter.
shareNever!
But I do quite often look at the stories "recommended for you".
10 celebs you didn't know were dead- that kind of thing lol
"Recommended For You" That shit appears on every page for me now but can't be clicked on.
shareOh, are those actually trustworthy? I thought some of them looked interesting, but I haven't clicked any yet because I wasn't sure if they were weird virus-laden sites or something.
shareYou couldn't pay me to go there.

shareNot all the time but I do check it out. I kind of like that the feature is there because it does help start a few conversations. Not just for General Discussion, but individual actor pages and movies/TV shows have their own "News, Rumors & Gossip" section too. Could be useful/fun way to celebrate some milestone, birthday or significant industry news.
I have not clicked on the ads below (I think we all see them now). I'm just not sure if they are safe - what exactly is Zergnet.com?
Not to say Jim is intentionally putting dangerous things on there, but sometimes things slip through the cracks, and didn't he say he's experimenting with ads, and that some may look questionable?
The one thing that bothers me is that I'll be on a page for a classic movie like Gone With the Wind or All About Eve on MovieChat, and the ads below show random pictures of a busty Victoria's Secret supermodel, a deformed, monstrous human face I really could do without seeing ("Top 10 movie freaks you need to know about!"), and a couple other faces with "Top 10 things you need to know!"
Not only does the tone of the ads and All About Eve not go well together, but someone passing my computer will go "What is up with those big ads with monster faces and celebrity chicks on every page?"
First, thanks to everyone who replied.
True, the tab could be a useful and fun way to celebrate milestones and other significant news to those who are interested, related to whichever film/show/celebrity news.
I haven't clicked on any of the ads either, especially those on the bottom, because I'm not sure they're safe. Like you, I don't think Jim would intentionally put anything on here that wasn't safe, but to my mind it's better to be safe than sorry. I've seen those same ads on other sites, and don't click on them there either.
No idea what Zergnet.com is.
LOL! I haven't (yet) seen the weird Victoria's Secret supermodel ads, with some kind of monstrous fact. WTH? :D
What you actually meant to say was that this website should be regulated to the extent that one must check every tab and cranny of this site or else they get their membership revoked. These pages are not here just to start conversations, we have to take a proactive step in keeping this site alive. If we do not visit certain areas, we are the failures! Thanks for drawing attention to this.
