Movies That Made You Feel You Went Back in Time?

I'll have to think about this..

My Girl
Then and Now
These are the early 70's when I was right around that age. or a bit older....
They did this so well!

I'll get back to you on other eras as well. There are films that really do take you back to a certain time in your life. People here may flame me for this but The Ben Stiller movie,
Starsky &Hutch actually takes me back to the mid to late 70's. Maybe it was the show it's self and the music. Just the feel of times was recreated for me.

The black and white early 60's is exactly how I view my early years..... My life is remembered in Black and White !
The Twilight Zone, Route 66, The Fugitive, Alfred Hitchcock Presents/Hour.....

There are movies that do take me back to other eras in my life. As I said, I'll get back to you. I like this thread!

Route 66 definitely " recreates " the feel of the open road for me. I spent a considerable amount of time driving coast to coast during the 70's.

reply

That's interesting! Did you do it as a job related thing or were you just searching for something like Buzz and Todd?

reply

Yes, it was a job and also a catharsis; I got divorced .

reply

I can certainly understand that!
Driving can be downright soothing for the soul!

reply

Yes, I recommend it; it's therapeutic .

reply

Oops! One more question....
Did you have a cool car?

reply

I did later in life .

reply

Great!
I hope that you also found someone else in life who was "cool" too.

The Ice Storm

That movie is Fairfield County 1973.

reply

I saw that when I was 18 -- I think I should check it out again...

reply

I love The Ice Storm. That really does take me back to the early 70's.
I watch that every year around Thanksgiving time.

reply

Same here. New Canaan is three miles from me , so I always take a visit before veiwing.

reply

The Ice Storm had the most accurate costume design. I can remember some of those clothes so vividly and they got exactly right.

Me and Orson Welles. I saw it in a theater, sat close to the screen, and felt like I had stepped right back into 1937.

reply

This was such a wonderful movie.
