Scariest horror film?

If you could name just one film as the scariest you have seen, what would it be?

reply

Noroi, without question.

reply

Will add it to the 'to watch' list.

reply

Glad to hear it. Noroi is kind of a hidden gem, it deserves to be seen by more people. I rarely see it mentioned in these kinds of lists, and it ought to be in them.

reply

Oh yeah! That one is the best mockumentary horror of all time.

reply

Just finished watching it and got bored halfway through so I started skipping through it to the ending. Didn't find it scary at all, sorry.

The Serpent and the Rainbow is among the scariest for me as well. Especially the cemetery scene.

reply

Seen that one. It was ok. I liked Wes Craven's films.

Black Christmas (1974).

I'm not much for scary/horror movies so mine is pretty lame: Hitchcock's The Birds.

reply

The Birds has really stuck with me through the years. We have quite a few tall trees around my house, and in the fall when the birds are migrating they congregate there. And it gets pretty loud. Every time I think of The Birds and just get chills down my spine.

I think we can get desensitized to certain types of horror, but nature attacking you I feel will forever be scary.

The Exorcist.

It Follows (2014) and Diabolique (1955). Usually horror movies never scare me, but I couldn't get these two movies out of my head for days.

My parents sex tape
