Seriously? Oh, no no no.
share The only tv preacher i ever liked was Dr. Gene Scott. There used to be a UHF tv station that had him on like 24 hours a day, and he would have all these wind up toy monkeys that played little drums, he was just utterly batshit and would go on for hours about the kookiest little tangents. He would fill up chalkboards with scribbles. But he was a legit scholar and he'd go back to the original Greek or Aramaic versions of different bible passages to contrast with the KJV and other translations. He did not do much moralizing like typical evangelists, he was really into languages and philosophy, but also just crazy inside jokes and showmanship. He was very critical of other tv preachers who had all those scandals (Swaggart, Bakker, etc).
In college, we used to come home late from a party or going out and we'd turn on his show at like 3 in the morning for comedy and stoned lulz. RIP Dr Gene
Werner Herzog made a documentary about him. 'God's Angry Man'
Looks like it's on youtube in several parts, I don't know if it's the full movie

I of course had to check Wikipedia, and he sounds like a character comparable with jamesboland's list. I will look for 'God's Angry Man' by Werner Herzog.
Billy Graham and his Billy Graham Crusades (1947–2005) set the standard. Even though his son Franklin is trying, he's doing so in his father's huge shadow.
Rectify (2013)
shareHouse of Cards!
i have watched the first few episodes. I just have to find the time to continue watching. LOVE Kevin Spacey in this. He plays nasty so well.
Kevin is an awesome actor!
shareKevin is awesome and MissMargoChanning you do have to finish at least season because it's great.
shareI plan to do that this weekend. The show is addictive. I love how we the audience are included. Breaking that 4th wall is delicious!
shareThe first two seasons of House Of Cards (U.S.) are right up there with being considered as the best TV to air in this decade...
However, and I'm sorry to report this (no spoilers, though), I feel the quality of the show declines as it gets into its 3rd and 4th season--it starts to have a feel of the story being dragged out simply because Netflix knows it has a hit show and wants to keep the cash cow giving milk.
And I'm really anxious to see what season 5 brings, seeing as how the original creator and showrunner, Beau Williamson, has left the show now due to what was euphemistically referred to as "creative differences" (which I have a sneaking suspicion means he never wanted to run this story out for 5, let alone 4, seasons).
The Twilight Zone (the original)
Cosmos (the original)
Legion
House
Upstairs / Downstairs
Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Sopranos
Dead Like Me
Hill Street Blues
the last and the best show to watch just before you die is:
SIX FEET UNDER
Oh the irony! lol
SFU is one of my favourite series ever and the last six minutes was the best ending of any tv show I have seen.
my favorite show ever and i never felt so speechless and moved before with any show those last 6 minutes.
its pure perfection.
this show stands lonely at the top.
why the hell dont they release it on bluray!
Perfection indeed in that it is a show I don't want to see return in any way, shape or form or to be remade at all.
I only have to think about the last 6 minutes and I am blubbing :'(
