I worry about the parents. Their son doesn't sound like he has both oars in the water and he owns a cache of guns. They may win the battle but lose the war....literally.
Agreed. I especially enjoyed the dialog...
The final shot from Whiplash when Fletcher and Andrew make eye contact at the end of Andrew's solo is the best for me!
I saw this trailer in IMAX and it looks spectacular. The dogfight scene made you feel like you were in the cockpit...I can't wait!
I only read two paragraphs. I feel your effort was both simple and lazy. In your first paragraph you mentioned the dialog. You didn't even possess the energy to write the ENTIRE line dealing with masturbation. You listed the setup but omitted the punchline. Very lazy and not worth a read. Good luck!
For what it's worth, I was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate the way he utilizes the background music in his films and the dialog was clever.
This reminds me of the feedback for The Man From Uncle. I don't think the majority, the masses, "get" his directing style. I believe it has something to do with the importance the music has in the film. You either love it or hate it. For me, I loved this film as well as TMFU.
The fact that the Academy didn't even nominate ANY of the songs from Sing Street really was a disgrace. Disney carries a pantload of sway with Hollywood and the Academy.
I loved LaLA Land but actually preferred the music and the story of Sing Street, an intimate Irish film by the director of Once.
Loved Man From UNCLE and a recent Tweet from Armie Hammer hinted there may be a sequel....Bring on the haters!
