I'm always trying to find movies with different version, alternative endings, or unfinished workprints that differ from the final version. I remember a few years ago stumbling across a torrent for I believe Hostel but it was an early workprint and was totally different than the version released to the public. Unfortunately these occurrences are hard to find as it typically relies on someone inside the studio to leak a movie while it's still in production.
shareI'd like to see 'The Devils' again. ( Ken Russell film from 1971)
I saw it in an art house theater in the 80's. For a long time it was not available on home video format, and there were some bootlegs that had heavy editing.
I think finally now itunes has an edited version,, according to wikipedia it was put on itunes, then removed, then put back again.
My favorite director is Bill Forsythe, director of Local Hero. He directed another wee gem called Comfort & Joy. It is a sweet film about a lonely Scottish disc jockey who inserts himself between warring ice cream companies owned by Italian families. It is a nice holiday film.
When Brendan Met Trudy is a saucy love story/comedy about a shy teacher who meets a mysterious woman who may be a thief. They teach each other a host of new things. The film contains many references to other iconic films. It is a witty ride.
I remember that movie, Comfort and Joy. I saw it in a theater when it first came out. It's a good movie, is it not available on video?

I once saw a movie on TV called Impulse that caught my attention. It has a memorable performance by Theresa Russell, directed by Sondra Locke. I've been looking for it for a long time. Last time I checked, DVD didn't exist and one had to make a special order and wait until they make a copy and send it to you. Interestingly, thanks to this thread I just realized that there is a DVD available on Amazon. :)
