I'm assuming you mean kid actors?

1: George Reeves
2: Noel Neill (Lois)
3: Jack Larson (Jimmy)

reply

I just rewatched Hollywoodland the other day, a look into the controversial death of George Reeves.

reply

Pretty tragic. Evidently tragedy has plagued many actors who have played Superman. We all know about Christopher Reeve.. there have been others. Google it.

reply

I don't need to be told when to Google something. πŸ™„

reply

I don't believe in curses, but I did just Google it. Pretty spooky stuff (no pun intended, I swear!).

reply

Sure is. Should have said not only played Superman but were in Superman movies. The list is long and tragic..coincidence. Hardly. Yes it sure is spooky TexasJack.

reply

Gordon Scott as Tarzan and Steve Reeves as Hercules.

reply

I watched a couple of Tarzans at school with Gordon Scott.

reply

Rin Tin Tin..does he count.
Lee Aaker
James Brown
Joe Sawyer

reply

Whirlybirds:
Kenneth Tobey
Craig Hill
Nancy Hale

reply

You know Whirlybirds???

reply

Am I showing my age. I am the other side of 60. One of the shows I watched as a young kid. The other was Cannonball.

reply

If you're showing your age then I am, too. My siblings and I watched Whirlybirds. We also watched Ripcord. I seem to remember Whirlybirds and Ripcord were broadcast back-to-back on our local TV station. I haven't heard of Cannonball before.

reply

Ripcord yeh also remember that. A sky diving outfit. . Cannonball about a couple of 16 wheeler long haul drivers. It was a Brit/Canada co production so unlikely you saw it in the Us. It was certainly shown on Australian tv. Another of my must watches in those days was Sea Hunt with Lloyd Bridges. I rewatched a remastered version of the whole series last year.

reply

Ah, yes. Sea Hunt. Another classic from my childhood.

reply

Nostalgia is a great thing. What else did you watch.

reply

The Lone Ranger. Who didn't watch that if they were a kid back then?

reply

Never was a huge western fan but yes I did watch the Lone Ranger. Just went onto YouTube Glenn and there are Ripcord episodes. Will watch those again for sure. There is also first release footage of a stunt gone wrong during filming. Not sure whether the stuntman died or not. Did I see a parachute?

reply

I missed a lot of these shows as I was locked away for much of my childhood in a draconian boarding school. We were allowed one hour television on weeknites and 2 hrs on weekends. The only time I got to watch all my fave shows was on school holidays.

reply

Boarding school sounds awful to me - always have. You did better than I did - we were allowed a half-hour a day, but on Saturdays we could watch morning cartoons from whenever we got up until noon. As time went by though, the rules were relaxed to an hour a day.

reply

Those viewing restrictions were by your parents? Yes boarding school was terrible. Very lonely for a 7 year old who had recently lost his father and was then removed from his mother without any explanation.

reply

Yes, by my parents. I cannot fathom sending a child, particularly a young child, to boarding school. Heck, I didn't even send my children to pre-school (common here in the US).

reply

What were your fave cartoons? Merry Melodies were mine with Daffy Duck as my all time fave character. Also liked Foghorn Leghorn and Elmer Fudd.

reply

Mostly the cartoons from Warner Brothers, I would say, which includes those you mentioned; Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester & Tweety, etc., but also a lot of Hanna-Barbera productions such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons, and Yogi Bear.

reply

Hanna-Barbera..yes Yogi Bear.. love him and his little buddy Boo Boo.. cant not go past the Flintstones tho. I still watch them.

reply

I remember watching that YouTube video of the stunt gone wrong but can't remember exactly what the outcome was.

Time for some "tubing" of old favorites, I think.

reply

I don't believe it ! Rin Tin Tin has been mentioned but not Lassie? Who didn't love Lassie back then ? 😲

reply

You're absolutely right! Who could forget Lassie!

reply

Whirlybirds episodes too! Even the Cannonball pilot episode.

Another of my faves was Robin Hood..made in England..never missed an episode of that.

reply

I'll definitely check out Cannonball. I have watched Whirlybirds on YouTube.

reply

Rin tin tin...it's been a while. I completly forgott about him.

reply

I think the Coreys each deserve their own number.
