MovieChat Forums > Politics > Being religious is every bit as delusion...

Being religious is every bit as delusional as believing people can change from male to female (and vice versa).

"Look at that delusional fella over there, wearing a dress and claiming to be a woman. Anyway, please give me some peace and quiet so I can talk to a beardy fairy in the sky." LMAO!

Tell me where I'm wrong.

reply

Christ is King.

There's zero evidence for any of Jesus's claimed supernatural feats. Hell, your boy's existence is disputed by some (not by me, admittedly).

Wasn't Jesus supposed to return in 2000? Perhaps he's a tad nervous about having to replicate "water into wine" and all that shit on camera lmao.

reply

"The idea that Jesus was a purely mythical figure has been, and is still, considered an untenable FRINGE theory in academic scholarship for more than two centuries, but according to one source it has gained popular attention in recent decades due to the growth of the Internet."

reply

Interesting that you went for the easy bit. Now take on this part:

There's zero evidence for any of Jesus's claimed supernatural feats.

reply

"Your boy's existence is disputed by some"- Blackm ASS

reply

Ahh. Shame you chickened out, but it's what I expected.

reply

What is the current year?

reply

Did ye, aye?

reply

2025 years after what? Now go cry, bitch.

reply

Nicely done.

reply

Lobbing insults and having no argument? Yes, he did that rather nicely.

reply

Atheists are angry, bitter people. You need Jesus.

reply

What exactly can some long-dead hairy bloke do for me?

reply

Relieve you of your anger and bitterness, obviously.

reply

My "anger and bitterness" are as real as the beardy sky genie.

reply

I'm surprised he didn't say the re-branded AD(The Year of Our Lord), known as CE(Common Era) which makes no Goddamned sense.

reply

It is necessary to distinguish between the historical Jesus and the supernatural miracle worker The first can be accepted on the fairly ordinary evidence found in scriptures and the acceptance of his existence is mainstream; the second, consisting of remarkable claims, requires extraordinary evidence - for which belated hearsay imho is not sufficient.

reply

Pretty sure Christian Nationalists gave plenty answers that God doesn't exist else if it does, it's a malevolent one.

reply

Nowhere in the Bible does it state that God is a benevolent and loving entity...he's kinda an asshole tbh.

That "God loves All" BS is a man-made construct.

reply

The Bible verse "God is love" appears in the King James Version (KJV) in 1 John 4:8 and 1 John 4:16. Whether or not one believes it given His record is another matter of course.

reply

Faith doesn't require evidence.

reply

That's exactly why it's a delusion.

reply

Tell me you know nothing of faith without saying you know nothing of faith. Clueless. Dumb. Childish.

reply

Enlighten me as to the empirical evidence for gawd.

reply

Do you know what "faith" means???

faith
/fāTH/
noun
noun: faith

2. strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

re·tard
noun
offensive
noun: retard; plural noun: retards
/ˈrētärd/

a person who has an intellectual disability (often used as a general term of abuse).

That's you.

reply

"Strong belief" in pervy sky fairies, without a lick of proof, constitutes delusion (see the original topic).

I'd even say it's pretty damn retarded.

Geology. Google Maps.

Evidence of the Great Flood is everywhere.

The Entirety of the Sahara Desert literally looks like an old washed out ocean. And the Richat Structure in Mauritania is obviously(yet disputed) the site of Atlantis. 36.0407169, -115.1919900

reply

You don’t even know what gender is 🤣

reply

Enlighten me.

reply

Thank you for proving my point

reply

Lmao, the lazy "you proved my point" trope. Do you actually have anything to say?

reply

I just said you don’t know what gender is and you admitted to it. This is too easy.

reply

Oh well, you have nothing, as I thought. Feel free to test those couple brain cells, and come back with a substantive comment.

reply

I have you admitting you know nothing. That’s check and mate, chump

reply

Nobody wants to be alone with a tranny.

reply

Maybe, if it's an unconvincing F2M that retains some of its previous hotness.

reply

Tell me where I'm wrong.

Gender is a social convention (as opposed to sex, which is biological fact). While religion can be a powerful social force, it's inaccurate to say it's solely a social convention, as it often involves deeply personal beliefs and spiritual experiences that transcend social constructs. Glad to help.

Almost three-quarters of Americans believe in literal angels. They think life comes after death rather than vice-versa. Eternal life. And that we are all bound for some kind of theme park. It's amusing how political conservatives object to entertaining the "delusions" of trans people out of some principled commitment to truth, but as an atheist, I've held hands for ridiculous one-sided prayers with the invisible sky-wizard. The claims of religious people are by their nature -- or perhaps I should say super-nature -- more extraordinary than the claims made by trans people.

reply

It's more amusing to know that a good portion of them will be going to hell, especially the nationalist Christians. Literally ignores all of Jesus's teachings. If there is a God, it'd be hilarious to see them get denied entry after thinking they did all this for him, all the atrocities that is.

reply

I have absolute proof god doesn’t exist. This proof is absolute, but immaterial. You can’t see it or measure it, but it exists. It’s beyond comprehension, and thus you should not even question it. It’s everywhere at all times, you just need to have faith that it’s there and it’s true. It’s as real as any god.

reply

OK, but the burden of proof falls on those making the claim (that a beardy sky pervert is floating above us). I'm simply observing the complete and total lack of empirical evidence for gawd.
