Could we be heading for the Cold War II
With all this Russia Vs NATO talk. Could we be heading back to the days of 1945-1991?

shareLike the man says,
A life lived in fear is a life half lived.
We've been in a cold war for a few years now, it is a hot one we have to worry about now, especially if Putin is emboldened by appeasement.
shareWell I have read that he considers the UK and USA allowing to Ukraine to use NATO weapons to attack Russia as a sign that the countries are involved in the conflict.
shareThat is true, and he has stated as much today. But then the West could say the same of the N Korean troops he is now employing, or all those drones from Iran.
shareI am in the UK and while the rest of Europe is preparing for all out war Starmer has said he will make no preparations or precautions and is even cutting our military.
shareI have not heard a 'will make no preparations or precautions' comment reported in the press, which one would have thought the right wing media would have jumped on. But it is certainly true that, after an early defence review, the Defence Secretary aims to save £500m by reducing or dispensing with out of date, or poor equipment - a slightly different perspective on things.

This is what I was referring to.
Fair enough; but, reading the story it is about the UK not now following other's advice to their citizens over on how to seek shelter and what to do in case of a nuclear attack, or similar advice issued by their Baltic neighbours Norway and Denmark, which both put out checklists for food and medicine supplies. This is not the same as making 'no' preparations or precautions at all, especially, in military terms against potential attack which you implied. Also, the Daily Mail is a right wing rag..
shareI am just getting flashbacks to 2020 when Covid first spread and other European countries were passing social distancing mandates and Boris Johnson did nothing until a bit later.
shareThese military cuts on top of social ones are just crazy in the context of appreciating the fact that the UK has given nearly £14 billion to Ukraine since this conflict began!
£14 billion. And you know where you can bet the vast majority of that has gone?
No, not in Zelenskyy pockets (although I wouldn't bet against a chunk of it finding its way there) but off to the United States and into the coffers of private arms manufacturing companies.
Total joke... "Great" britain.
Unbelievable. Just posted this, then was having a look on Twitter to find Blackrock trending:-

Honestly, I think we're all total clowns here. Said to Mrs FootOfDavros earlier this evening it wouldn't even really be that surprising to find Putin was in on the swindle...
You can’t keep something this good just for yourself.
shareWe need to hit III first before we can backtrack to II.
shareAmerica has actually been in the middle of a Cold Civil War for the past 8 years. We just didn't call it that outright. We're currently just calling it, "The Culture Wars."
Not sure if whatever is going on overseas between us and the bad guys could be considered a "cold war."
