Fox News host reports Trump broke the law to stay in power

Hah! Neil Cavuto did not even try to downplay it! Fox News viewers are in for a shock.

TEXT:

Fox News host Neil Cavuto said Wednesday that a newly unsealed filing in the federal Jan. 6 case revealed former President Trump “resorted to crimes” to stay in office.

“It was in this newly unsealed court paper we’re learning that former President Trump resorted to crimes to cling to power after the 2020 election. We don’t know much more than that,” Cavuto said Wednesday on Fox News.

“A lot of this stuff was going to be coming out anyway. We’re going to be getting the latest on that, and a legal look at what is being revealed here and whether it’s giving us any new information, anything we don’t know. The timing of this, of course, is little more than about five weeks before the general election,” he added.

Prosecutors in the former president’s Jan. 6 case outlined their case against Trump in a newly unsealed court document on Wednesday, where special counsel Jack Smith argues that Trump’s offenses alleged in the case were private actions, not officials ones.

The filing came after a Supreme Court ruling over the summer gave broad immunity to presidents while in office. Smith is trying to argue that the actions he outlined in his case can still remain in his indictment of Trump because they were private acts.

“When the defendant lost the 2020 presidential election, he resorted to crimes to try to stay in office. With private co-conspirators, the defendant launched a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results in seven states that he had lost—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin (the “targeted states”),” the filing reads.

The former president was indicted on four charges related to efforts to interfere with the election last year. Trump railed against the filing in a lengthy rant on Truth Social.

“The release of this falsehood-ridden, Unconstitutional, J6 brief immediately following Tim Walz’s disastrous Debate performance, and 33 days before the Most Important Election in the History of our Country, is another obvious attempt by the Harris-Biden regime to undermine and Weaponize American Democracy, and INTERFERE IN THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION,” Trump wrote on Wednesday.

Though a months-long congressional investigation and the indictment itself have chronicled in stark detail Trump’s efforts to undo the election, the new filing cites previously unknown accounts offered by Trump’s closest aides to paint a portrait of an “increasingly desperate” president who while losing his grip on the White House “used deceit to target every stage of the electoral process.”

“So what?” the filing quotes Trump as telling an aide after being alerted that his vice president, Mike Pence, was in potential danger after a crowd of violent supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“The details don’t matter,” Trump said, when told by an adviser that a lawyer who was mounting his legal challenges wouldn’t be able to prove the false allegations in court, the filing states.

So Cavuto is regurgitating the lies from Jack Smith.

reply

If they are lies then tRump should sue him for libel, and we can have all the details come out in court.

reply

You could tell him the sky is blue but if Trump says it's yellow, anything else his followers hear are lies.

Cavuto is clearly a mole. He's never been loyal to Fox News is the only explanation. Or he was payed a ton of money by the Democratic cheaters to lie on air. It's literally impossible for Trump to lose the election. Everyone knows that the majority of citizens of America love him very much.

"...It's literally impossible for Trump to lose the election. Everyone knows that the majority of citizens of America love him very much."

They do?

reply

🤣

reply

This is clear election interference. Plain and simple.

reply

Yeah, right. Just like Neil Cavuto being a Democrat mole ever since he joined Fox News all the way back in '96. And Trump acolytes wonder why they're nicknamed 'Cult45'.

reply

Truth be told, it's extremely difficult to cast a vote for Trump, but it's a damn shame the democrats have to put up a cackling hyena and a self-proclaimed knucklehead as the opposition, they're very hard to vote for as well.

reply

It's actually not hard at all...I've done it twice now!

reply

Thanks for informing us of the incel stance.

reply

I make a very unbiased post and you call it the "incel stance"? No matter who you vote for, it's a losing game. Although, I do think the cackle is going to lose. Orange is looking slightly better.

reply

Unbiased, lol. Maybe you should learn English.

reply

What? You're just trolling.

reply

Your post was totally biased. Perhaps you don't understand the meaning of that word.

reply

wrong...

"Trump resorted to crimes to cling to power after the 2020 election. We don’t know much more than that,” Cavuto said"

so no news then?

reply

Doesn't matter and is a nothing burger designed to be election interference over some butthurt TDS Prosecuting Attorney consistently losing sleep over Donald Trump and he's basically going to fail because even if they allowed this, the trial wouldn't be until next year and Trump wins this in 33 days like it or not. The man is killing it in early voting, so cry harder

reply

This is election interference. Ya know, that thing you people swear you don't do?
