I fail to see why the presence of a LGBT character in a show for under 18s is somehow wrong.
I grew up listening to "The Rest Of The Story" on the radio as my family sat at the kitchen table eating a home cooked meal for dinner. Harvey's Mid-Western, homespun outlook was as normal and uncontroversial as you could get. Today he'd likely be painted as a Christo-fascist extremist by the libertine scum of today's left.
