You may not think its a legitimate process, but the actual fact of the matter is that political parties get to choose how they nominate their candidates, and the electorate gets to weigh in on the merits - which is, ultimately, quite democratic. Besides which, Harris was part of the ticket voted on by the delegates. I was actually for an open convention, but events have shown that would have been cumbersome, time-wasting, divisive, and no more conclusive than settling upon the VP quickly, in addition to highly offensive to many people of color, or inclined to support her as a member of a demographic never before selected for the highest office. If you find that offensive, imagine settling upon a person with ZERO public service experience (i.e. her opponent, in 2016).
