They don't think at all about the consequences of their actions beyond the little liberal fairy tales in their heads, nor do they seem to understand realistic human behavior, and you can tell they won't read any historical stuff if it doesn't align with their narrative. I'll provide some examples:
What a liberal thinks will happen if everyone gives up their guns --> no more crimes, no more deaths due to gunfire, no more suicides, no more home invasions, no more stores being held up, no more robberies, no more gangs, no more school shootings, the govt. will remain the same, all will be peaceful and we'll all live happily ever after.
What a conservative knows will happen instead --> all the law-abiding citizens will be the ones giving up their guns, while the criminals keep theirs; the shootings will continue, the country will be even less safe than it was before, people will just find other ways to kill themselves, the govt. has a high chance of seizing the opportunity of becoming a dictatorship now that the citizens can't defend themselves.
It's happened before in history. Just look at 1770s America when the redcoats occupied our cities on the coasts, 1930s Germany, and 1910s Russia.
