I never really paid much attention to it until stores started locking more things up and putting security tags on everything but when I'm in the women's section with my better half I can't help but notice how everything there seems to be locked down and I think to myself, women must the biggest bunch of thieves out there.
Our Walmart has lip balm locked up. Five dollar lip balm. No guy is stealing that type of shit.
What do you say for yourselves women? Why are you such thieving bastards?
On an unrelated note, strangely, PS5s and Rogaine are locked up behind bullet proof glass.
I've heard complaints of black products being locked up accompanied with cries of racism.
shareHow about all the hair care, bathroom, makeup, and feminine care products all being sectioned off at Wal-Mart? We never had this issue before the 2010s when they relaxed store security and started defunding the police. Now the only way I can get any of that stuff at Wal-Mart is to walk into the walled-off area, have someone unlock a glass case for me (and they never have more than one woman manning that entire section, and often she's not around and you have to wait 5-20 minutes before she shows up), and then I have to pay for it at a register before I'm allowed to leave the walled-off area.
There's a reason I've been buying shampoo, makeup, nail polish, and female stuff at Rite-Aid and Walgreens. They don't use such extreme measures on their stuff, though they are slowly catching up with Wal-Mart.
Sooner or later, we're gonna have a situation where the stores are gonna be so distrustful of their customers, that they're not gonna let anyone in beyond some big counter at the front, and you'll have long lines of people waiting ages while gofers run around getting their orders in the store, and forcing the customers to pay up front, and the gofer might not even get the right product in their run. I saw just how inefficient this was firsthand when I made the mistake of getting curbside pickup. I can't imagine how bad it will be when they force everyone to stay out of the main store while employees do all the heavy lifting. Even worse, they'll still be understaffed because the company doesn't want to pay more people to work in servicing the customers.
