Their ancestors deserved to be paid for their work. Each state benefited financially from free Labor. Well that was wrong and it should be righted.
That money needs to go somewhere. Obviously their descendants should get it, either as money, more programs/housing, or a combination of all.

1. are we going to make sure ancestors of the people who sold america slaves also contributes?
2. are we going to do extensive deep dive ancestory and DNA tests. and base payements off "how black" or "how oppressed" your ancestors were. should ancestors of well treated slaves get less?
3. plenty of immigrants like the irish while not slaves were exploited were horribly paid lower class labor. we going to get reparations going for that?
4. how far back we going? why are you stopping there in terms of fixing injustices in the past? why have you narrowed it so much?
Irish faced discrimination but were effectively free to:
1) quit their jobs
2) form syndicates/unions
3) move city/state/country
4) sue people in court
5) press charges for assualt

1) If they have wealth, yes. If no, they still aren't eligible for reparations in my book, but it will be hard to get them to pay money/resources they don't possess.
2) If necessary, yes. I'm not sure how you would determine who was more oppressed. Paying them equally is better than no reparations at all.
3) Every other group already got their reparations, including slave owners.
4) Race-based slavery in America. Because, America is the beneficiary of it, and the one paying the debt. Common sense.
Only descendants of slave-owners should bear any burden, if at all, go after them...if there are any left.
That Civil War killed a lot of people before the 20th century...
There was no apartheid in America...what are you smoking? Slaves lived closely with their host families, and even integrated in a lot cases, how the F do you think Black people in the USA have majority European DNA!?

Would black people be willing to accept reparations in the form of just having the USA treasury type it into the US treasury computer and then electronically deposited into individual black people's bank accounts just like income tax returns are electronically deposited into people's bank accounts? The reparations will not be taxed away from people or added on to the US public debt.
Or do black people want the reparations taxed away from americans?
I think the reparations would have to come from somewhere, namely the wealthy and corporations. If your idea of it works, I don't think anyone would care where it came from, as long as it was paid. I don't know enough about taxes or treasury to evaluate your plan.

If the wealthy can get reparations, then no, they should PAY reparations.
