Former Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday dropped his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, ending his campaign for the White House after struggling to raise money and gain traction in the polls.

“It’s become clear to me: This is not my time," Pence said at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual gathering in Las Vegas. “So after much prayer and deliberation, I have decided to suspend my campaign for president effective today.”

“We always knew this would be an uphill battle, but I have no regrets," Pence went on to tell the friendly audience, which reacted with audible surprise to the announcement and gave him multiple standing ovations.

Pence is the first major candidate to leave a race that has been dominated by his former boss-turned-rival, Donald Trump, and his struggles underscore just how much Trump has transformed the party. A former vice president would typically be seen as a formidable challenger in any primary, but Pence has struggled to find a base of support.

Pence did not immediately endorse any of his rivals, but continued to echo language he has used to criticize Trump.

Pence sees the GOP as a shitshow and wants nothing to do with them.

There was nothing for him to come clean about or to admit other than knowing that the election was rigged and he should have ‘verbally’ refused the certification; instead, he was complicit in a fraudulent election.

Complicit in overthrowing the government and the duly elected president is illegal.

Bogus indictments and only because he is campaigning.

Someone posted a link on this board a few weeks ago to an MSNBC video where they literally admitted that the only reason that he is been indicted is because he started campaigning. That is their confirmation of 'Election Interference'.

Underneath it all, I do think Pence is a decent guy and probably would have been a good president but that fly landing on his head during the VP debates was the end of his career. lol.

On a more serious note, he's way too robotic and rehearsed like most politicians are. One thing people like about Trump is that his words seem heartfelt and don't come off as "acting" like so many politicians do.

In addition to this, Pence is probably a little too conservative for today's America.

Maybe they do on occasion but hey, even Joe Biden has said some incredibly weird things.

At Trump's rallies, his words come off as very heartfelt most of the time. This was a big reason why people voted for him. It was the fact that he didn't sound rehearsed, he made people feel good about being Americans, and most of all, he seemed genuinely interested in the security of Americans.
