bump.

reply

How did kids survive 1000's of years ago when there was no free lunches?

reply

They died, you uneducated moron.

reply

If all the kids died then why do humans still exist?

Dont you ever wonder what life was like for an average family of 4 in 1823? Do you think they complained about the same stuff we are complaining about today?

reply

Didn't they live to only 40 in those days?

reply

Yeah, give or take. The people who are poor and worked hard didn't live very long but the elites and aristocrats lived to about 60.

These days, if someone stubs a toe they will create a Go fund me account. I see dozens of homeless begging for money everyday but then I see a sign that says now hiring.

reply

It doesn't specify. Just average lifespan was 40. Not something to aim for.

Most homeless have mental health issues. Another problem is housing has become unaffordable.

Past studies have shown that hungry children don't learn as well as children who are properly fed. That's the reason there are school lunch programs. Why do you want little kids to starve?

reply

Both those clowns in the video send campaign money over to family members and friends. Just think how much over charging there will be in democrat cities.

reply

You sound so stupid, you're immediately spotted as a knuckle-dragger, when you use playground namecalling.

reply

Who the hell got free lunches when they went to school?

You got a baloney sandwich and around payday, you got a better sandwich.

reply

Sometimes all I got was cheese sandwiches or peanut butter and jelly. It was a treat to get a bologna sandwich. Kids these days are spoiled and fat.

reply

Makes you appreciate your parents when you hear about some parents who cannot afford to feed their own children.

Not sure if I'd consider baloney superior to cheese or peanut butter and jam though.

reply

It was like PB&J 3 days a week for the entire school year. I hated the cheese sandwich cause it was just sliced block cheese on plain white bread. At least bologna had some flavor. On special occasions I might get bologna and cheese. We could only afford 1 school lunch every other week. My dad worked a lot of OT and mom had part time jobs just so me and my brother didn't have to rely on the school to feed us.

reply

I live in a state where all kids receive free breakfast and lunch. This should have always been the case for every public school.

reply

Me too (Cali). Who can argue against that?

reply

Apparently Republicans are pro-Child Hunger.

reply

I think that's really a class issue, and was a bigger one before the 21st century. See, most of us had parents who would either give us lunch money, or pay for a week's worth of lunch tickets every week (some schools even use a lunch card with 7 boxes the lady at the register can cross off with a marker when you "buy" your lunch). The problem is, those same, working, middle-class parents would look down on kids whose parents were so poor they couldn't afford to pay for school lunch, so their kids could opt to get it for free. The working class parents would see it as unfair that they had to pay for their kids' lunches, but the kids in welfare families didn't have to.

These days most parents don't really care anymore and mind their own business.

reply

Moot point, since all kids regardless of who their parents are get the breakfast and lunch. And your story of offended parents sounds made-up--copyrite 2023 Save Our Country cultists.

reply

it might be made up , and it yes its free for all kids now , its just the paypoint has changed to income tax.

But that doesent change point of the message.

Some of the more well off people are still upset they are subsidizing less well off people.
And we call those people - Conservatives

reply

Obviously, the self-proclaimed arbiters of all things moral, "protect the children", right-wing ALSO wants to maintain their right to express THEIR personal choice to indoctrinate their children to be the next generation of "freeloader" accusers.
