Kansas City teen knocked on wrong door 10pm before being shot by homeowner.

Should the homeowner be charged with a crime or was it a justified shooting? It's obviously a tragedy but knocking on somebody's door at 10pm is risky. I'm not aware of a recording of the interaction so I would consider the homeowner innocent until proven guilty. He had to knock on three or four doors before getting help at that hour. I could understand the owner flipping out if the teen was knocking loudly and screaming. Missouri does have a stand your ground law so that might provide protection from prosecution.

Back in the news. Been over 2 months and I haven't seen anything that it was racially motivated. Still, race is in the headlines of the so called far right Daily Heil.

Daily Mail headlines can be provocative BUT I consider the Daily Mail to be the best free source of news and information on the internet. The Daily Mail comments section is also quite good.

I still have empathy for the old-timer but I don't know if he can avoid prison and he's going to have to pay a fortune to lawyers. A lot of burglars do knock on doors to see if anyone is home before committing a burglary.

Daily Mail did have a picture of the psycho who killed the family so they didn't need to mention race. It sounds like the guy should have been locked up BEFORE he killed someone. I wonder if the psycho was living with a relative or if there was a nearby homeless shelter.

Your article, the last couple paragraphs:

Important note from BAA: Straight burglary is a property crime that the District Attorney (George Gascon) is not holding people necessarily to the same standard that they were previously!

So, the rich people who get robbed, they're going for higher charges than straight burglary, which is not being held to the same standard as it were, which is what we're seeing now in large cities run amok. So, middle and lower classes that get robbed get screwed.

There was no need to mention race with the teen who happened to be black was shot whilst knocking on a door by a man who happened to be white. they had pictures. By putting race in the headline is to insinuate or flat make it out to be a racially motivated incident. If I were to mention race in regard to the DM link below, I'd be called a racist. I'd be asked what does race have to do with it.

I'm guessing 99.9% of the time, if someone outside your home hears you call out "I'VE GOT A GUN!" that dude's gonna hightail it outta there, especially in what I imagine that particular neighborhood is like, i.e. it's not San Diego.

What would Jesus do?
