From the looks of it, no compromise. One side wants complete unfettered abortion available at any stage in the pregnancy and the other wants to either have complete abortion ban or a very limited window. Silent majority I think is for the 15 week ban.

reply

I'm my mind there are two positions: either a woman has control over her own body or the state has control over it.

Is there a moral argument for a 15 week ban?

reply

I don't think it's right to have no limit, don't you? Are you for a fully formed baby ready to be birthed able to be aborted right at the last minute if wanted? That's pretty much murder imo. A moderate/centrist approach is give enough time for a woman to decide but not to the point where you can clearly tell it's a baby, have a heartbeat, can maybe feel pain, formed brain with neurons, etc.

Many women can't tell their pregnant within a month, OKAY!, so we give them that one month plus 3 extra months to decide if they want to keep the child or not, I think that's laxed and fair.

reply

So you are in the "state controls a woman's body," camp. Just to be clear

reply

> A moderate/centrist approach is give enough time for a woman to decide but not to the point where you can clearly tell it's a baby, have a heartbeat, can maybe feel pain, formed brain with neurons, etc.

Except that is not the Republican stand on abortion.

Why are there literally no Republican voices pushing this moderate abortion policy of yours, or even willing to talk about it?

Proving once again Republicans are irrational extremists on every issue. If there is an issue where they are not yet irrational extremists, some story will be made up along with a narrative to push any issue to the extreme.

reply

Can someone define woman for me please?

reply

In this context it is somebody who is pregnant. Wise ass.

reply

Let me guess. You watched the Matt Walsh episode? That was a hell of an episode to remember.

reply

There needs to be all the way to birth. Have the doctor have a hammer in the utensils for birth. Hookers now days don't know really what color the child will be so it might conflict with who they are using to take care of them or may marry.

reply

You can't rush that conversation.

reply

> One side wants complete unfettered abortion available at any stage in the pregnancy

That's completely untrue. No one is advocating for that. Show me any links or source material where someone is for no restrictions on abortion?

A narrow group of Republicans ( presumably those who repulse women so much ) wants to force women to give birth even if rape or incest, and seems to indicate they want to be able to rape their children into existence if they cannot get a women to cooperate.
