Sky high energy bills ☹

I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but it's getting ridiculous in the UK.
We'll be paying about £6000 a year by January for house gas & electric (which is about 4x what it was last year).

I keep reading about France, and that their government put a 4% cap on what suppliers could charge. So why can't we do that too?

We are getting told that it's a global issue whilst at the same time the energy companies are reporting record profits. If that's the case then it can't be costing them so much otherwise our bills and their profits would be a similar % to last year.

Can someone explain what's really going on and why our government are unable to limit energy companies price increases ?

Keep voting for Tories, I'm sure one day they'll do that too. It's all bound to trickle down any moment now!

The Covidocene is a time of lunacy where nothing makes sense. I know that lunacy is what it's usually like but now it has been turned up to eleven !

This is called "Price Controls" You don't want that. It's another step towards full-blown communism. Do not allow price controls...ever.

I'm aware that facts mean nothing to you Trumptwats, but...

1. UK is no longer part of the EU, and

2. only receives 4% of its gas from Russia.

I love the UK and think it's a pretty cool place that I'd love to live (especially England and Scotland), but stuff like that is a huge negative. Also you guys pay a lot of taxes as well.
