Anyone who has bothered to pick up a history book and actually study this subject knows the war was not about slavery. Sure, it was an issue but this idea that the North marched South to free slaves is absolutely a virtue-signaling, liberal fucktard's wet dream and nothing more.
No, the war was like any other and fought for the same reasons. Money, power and real estate. The North didn't give a shit about slaves. Their own words bear this out. Slavery was an issue because the North wanted southern cotton and taxes from southern cotton. The South's cotton industry was heavily dependent on slave labor and they northern states knew that if the South expanded westward, that they couldn't compete with slave labor. They knew the South would grow in power and influence and they wouldn't be able to impose their will on the South.
Let's be 100% clear. The South did not start the war. The South seceded, legally. The union of states was never meant to be held together at gun point. The North ILLEGALLY invaded Southern sovereign territory and it wasn't with the altruistic notion of freeing slaves.
Let me ask one question. Do you really believe that the Union illegally invaded the South to free African slaves from bondage, purely put of their belief that it was the right and just thing to do, only to then march west and wage absolute genocide on the Plains Indians?
