I'd argue you're correct on the first three, but incorrect when it comes to Afghanistan. When we invaded, we decimated the Taliban in a matter or months. When we left, the Afghan Security Forces were supposed to take over, but they proved incompetent and didn't even put up a fight, despite the billions we provided in training and hardware. Frankly, they only have themselves to blame. Staying forever was never and option for us.

No actually wrong. What occurred was people that were willing to step on other people achieved success and hot the leg up. Having said that once white Northern Europeans built the modern world they didn't keep how they did it a secret. The East Asian countries followed the model and reaped the rewards, not so much in Africa though. So it really has nothing to do with mean old Whitey keeping the poor folk down.
