Should churches lose their tax-exempt status if they play Kamala's video?

Kamala Harris has recorded a video urging churchgoers to vote for Terry McAuliffe in the VA Governor's race and it will be played during church services over the next few weeks. Should these churches lose their tax-exempt status since they are effectively playing a political advertisement for a candidate. Also, should Kamala Harris be impeached for breaking the law? I say yes to both violations. Impeach Kamala and strip the churches of their tax-exempt status.

If you want Christian Churches to lose tax exemption, then you have to be okay with them having a say in politics.

reply

As if they don't already have a say in politics. Absolutely all churches and religious organisations should lose their tax exemptions. And I don't give a fuck about the impact it would have on their charitable work.

reply

I'm talking legally. The tax exemption bars them from entering politics, and endorsing candidates.

You don't want this happening if you believe in separation of Church and State.

reply

It not like they do not have a say in politics already.
Money is funneled into churches and goes straight out to Right-wing candidates,
or positive coverage for same.

reply

I cannot believe they think a Kamala video is going to make anybody vote.

They should lose tax-exemption, regardless of whether they are involved in politics or not. No sense giving them free money for brainwashing people out of confronting important questions and realities about life and our species.
