At a daily briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said China delivered of long list of demands, including withdrawing visa restrictions on Chinese Communist Party members and their families, sanctions on Chinese leaders, officials and government departments and lifting visa restrictions on Chinese students.

He said Washington should end measures against Chinese enterprises, students, educational outlets and media and withdraw the extradition request for Meng Wanzhou, the Huawei executive who was detained in Canada.

Sherman said the sides did not discuss a possible meeting between Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which some observers have speculated could take place on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Rome at the end of October.

Hohoho, China not scared of the US no more after Biden took office (not as worried as they were under Trump that is but even that's a bit of a stretch). Now they're demanding the US give them more freedom to operate in the US with their propaganda, subversion, conversion, buy out American companies for take over, and indoctrinate the students to the communist ways. Oh and to allow Chinese students to study in the US so they can learn all they can to defeat the US once and for all.

Yeah China is trying to cozy up to everyone the west made hate them, including Tahiti vs the French over the nuclear tests, the Taliban (have fun trying to control them China) and most of Africa. Not so good for white supremacists.

Nothing to do with Biden. Has to do with our withdrawal from Afghanistan, the failure there and the perceived weakness of our military. In modern warfare young dumb and full of cum doesn't work anymore. What's more is the Russians have magrav technology allegedly which is like an ebomb but can be turned on and off and disable everything we have. They may have given it to China.

Bizarre and ignorant comment. Social studies including Chinese culture was recently banned in some universities by idiots like Ted Cruz. Educational institutions are MEANT for learning about other cultures. If China is our enemy, it is better to learn about them. There's nothing wrong with intercultural relations. If the US is going to have a Starbucks at Tienanmen Square, it's only fair for the Confucius Institute to have a cramped office at universities. Besides they aren't teaching anything about communism. We have enough American authors that do that. Visit a revolution books sometime.

And this hysteria over communism. It's amazing it is still going on this long after the McCarthy era. No one is going to get indoctrinated in it. It's considered a failed system. China's danger has nothing to do with communism as much as it has to do with their imperialist ambitions. Try to understand things more complex than the toilet roll in your bathroom.

I don't think China wants to control the Taliban. Their way of dealing things is strictly mostly business unless the country is communist do the they help install communist hardware (ability to cut off internet, etc.). They tend to leave countries alone unless that country asks for China's assistance or that it is of strategic importantance to China's rise/protection.

Comparing having a business that churns out caffeine drinks to confucius institutes that indoctrinates students to praise/defend China is ignorant in itself. Nothing wrong with these institutes until they start acting on behalf of the CCP political influence and suppression of academic freedom. I said communist ways, not communism itself.

Indeed it's a failed system, don't mean some people on the left aren't aiming towards it. First step is socialism after late capitalism then late socialism into communism as the end goal (according to Marx anyway which they base it on). Maybe it could be different under a Democracy but most if not all communist states ended up with authoritarian dictatorship.

For a so-called IR major, you don't seem to know the adversaries that well imo. Call them stupid all you want or better yet, don't participate in them if it riles you up, doesn't mean you're right either. These are just my opinionated thoughts on the matter. I've watched enough videos and listened to other 'experts' on this matter to see China's end game plan if not get a sense of it.
