Did you know the word "supreme"

is racist?

I work in nonprofit. My job holds one of those dinners where everyone wears all white and brings their own food and booze. That French thing that hipsters and yuppy Americans like to rip off. Dinner etc blanc is it? You set up tables outside, eat, take pictures, etc.

Anyway, we are working on invites, sponsorship opportunities, etc. One of the pieces of literature said something about the "Supreme package" for sponsors.

One of the volunteers replies with something like, "In today's racially charged society where dressing in all white is sensitive enough, I am not comfortable using the word "supreme" attached to our event."

What planet are these people from?!
