Raising minimum wage is needed
America isn't a cheap country. It's expensive. So why have people try to survive on $10 an hour?

shareThe federal minimum wage was last raised on July 24, 2009, when it rose from $6.55 to $7.25 per hour, the last step of a three-step increase approved by Congress in 2007. Before 2007, the minimum wage had been stuck at $5.15 per hour for 10 years.
It’s time for raise, wouldn’t ya say?
Only if the employers wish to do so. It shouldn’t be up to government forcing private companies to pay what the government dictates.
shareIt should. It's called human rights. If I can find someone who will work for $10 a day, 7 days a week, should that be allowed to happen in the USA?
shareYeah, if the person is foolish enough to work for that amount. I doubt very seriously you would have any employees. The government has no right to tell a private company what to pay their employees. It’s between the employer and the job seeker. But, the government can refuse to contract with the company if it feels the employees are underpaid for the job requirements.
BTW, it’s not a human right to have a job and it’s not a human right to demand an employer pay you a certain amount. The sweat shops and child labor in this country has been dealt with. Trump was trying to deal with China producing so many of our goods. He was trying to get the companies to give jobs to Americans on American soil. He was for the American worker not the Chinese worker. I would have cut all ties to them after the pandemic they released on the world. But, along comes Biden and the puppet masters who are going to kiss China’s arse because Harris/Biden voters are welcoming Communism. If they truly loved their country they would have fought like hell to keep them from taking over!
What you also don’t understand or grasp, besides hours being cut, there are employers now who don’t have employees. They deal with independent contractors. I was one during my last stint of working outside the home. The owner said he would never have employees again. Too much red tape.
A hair salon doesn’t have employees as they once did. The hairdresser rents space from the owner.
Frankly, I don’t understand why you can’t see the repercussions of government demanding a minimum wage. Why stop at $15.00? Go to $20.00, $25.00!
You do realize when you raise the minimum wage, the union wages go up...followed by increases of everyday goods.
And rainbows. Everyone gets their own rainbow too.
