Can a white father say "My daughter can't date black guys" in 2020?

Once upon a time, it was against the law, whether the father wanted it or not.

Laws changed but still, even in the 1970s, the majority of Americans were against interracial couples.

But things have changed. Not only are you not allowed to have those views, some might call that a 'hate crime' if you were found to have such rules for your daughter and her 'human right' to date whoever she wants.

What do you think, would it be a 'hate crime'?

I don't know. Some cultures it's important to them to marry within their own race/culture/religion. Personally, if someone wants to date someone outside their race, I don't care. But I also don't care if someone doesn't want to do it either.

A father can say whatever he wants. Who cares?

A Christian father can say, " My daughter can't date Jewish men" in 2020.

A Republican father can say, "My daughter can't date a Democrat" in 2020.

A Republican father can say, "My lesbian daughter can't date women" in 2020.

If the daughter is over the age of 18, she can make her own adult choices.

You know those words are funny and people use them sometimes jokingly and sometimes not jokingly. I bet they are used in the bedroom a lot. Afroamerican boyfriend in the streets, niga dick in the sheets.

You’re not necessarily a bigot or racist for not wanting your daughter to marry a Black. There are many Blacks who feel the way you do in not wanting their daughter or son to marry a White. But, the descriptive words you use are offensive to me as a pure White person. Those words are ugly and should not be used in today’s lexicon. Attempt to use Black and homosexual in their place. BTW, they aren’t fun nor funny. Personally I don’t use African American...they weren’t born in Africa. They are Black Americans. I also don’t use the word “gay” in place of homosexual.

That's funny. Lately, I feel like some of my friends with young kids may feel jealous of me for not having the immense burden (at moment anyway) that comes with being a parent. Part of me wants to some day and another part feels like once you have kids that's it the government wins and you're a slave the rest of your life financially at least and you have to buy into the the bullshit that is the world. Idk maybe the woman I've been waiting for will change my mind or intentionally go off birth control without telling me.

Anyone can say anything. Should they? No, that is a terrible thing to say. Will the daughter listen? I doubt it, if she is already an adult.

I don't think it's a hate crime. If a Japanese father said his daughter is not marrying anyone not Japanese, would that be a hate crime? Sure he is trying to preserve his race and culture, he is racist also but we won't judge him too hard. Only white people have to be tolerant of everything and everyone all the time. If you don't want your daughter marrying another race you might be a racist but it could be just because you want her family and community to resemble yours which is not motivated by hate.

Keep in mind, parents technically don't have the power to control certain aspects.......like who their kids choose to date and marry!

At the end of the day, it's their choice especailly one they reach that legal age (over 18). Parents enforcing these views is going to to backfire in their faces.

I’ve been waiting to inquire about this subject. You opened the door for me. The rapidity of races mixing will someday not beget a pure race. Different cultures lost forever. No longer a pure race of the 3 to 4 currently in the world.

Most anthropologists recognize 3 or 4 basic races of man in existence today. These races can be further subdivided into as many as 30 subgroups.

Caucasian races (Aryans, Hamites, Semites)

Mongolian races (northern Mongolian, Chinese and Indo-Chinese, Japanese and Korean, Tibetan Malayan, Polynesian, Maori, Micronesian, Eskimo, American Indian),

Negroid races (African, Hottentots, Melanesians/Papua, “Negrito”, Australian Aborigine, Dravidians, Sinhalese)

White does not encompass Indian or aboriginal Australians. The bone structure and skull for the American Indian is akin to the Mongoloid race. The aboriginal Australians is akin to the Negroid race.
