Anyone here have kids that attend public school or teach in public school?

Curious, how are they teaching kids these days? I saw a comment about one teacher and he says, "I teach HS in Rochester NY. We rarely talk about academics in our faculty meetings. It’s all about social emotional stuff now." Wondering if that is true.

Is it true that children come home crying because they're being taunted at school by their liberal peers for being straight?? Do they get depressed for not being/acting gay enough, or for simply not being gay for that matter?

reply

I have never seen anything like that happen.

Reeeeally?

reply

That's what Barron told his daddy. It must be true.

I'm a substitute teacher. So I never did the digital learning thing regular teachers did.

I hope remote learning only lasts long as it needs to then goes back to regular in person teaching a year from now. My goal is to get a perminent teaching position, and the idea of having to teach through a computer screen is devastating!

reply

OH MY GOD...STAY AWAY FROM THE CHILDREN!😱

reply

Why you're being rediculous.

reply

Hey "teacher", it's spelled 'ridiculous'.

And I thought the school district that I taught in had the lowest standards.

reply

You missed "perminent."
😜

reply

LOL- thanks! My head was spinning from the "rediculously" long, grammatically messy and poorly punctuated sentence that preceded it.

reply

Yikes! YOU are actually allowed to teach young minds? You are a perfect example of what is wrong with the American education system.

I was a substitute teacher and I was constantly saddened by the low standards exhibited in the school district where I taught. The regular teachers left notes for me and THEY misspelled words. They never bothered to correct student work. Using a red pen was considered too harsh.

The high school here graduates functional illiterates.

You as a teacher is what is truly devastating!
