People griping about nudity in horror makes no sense

I see horror fans and YouTubers squealing like excited little girls when a film has extreme blood, gore, and violence, but if it shows a naked woman, they act as if it’s the most offensive thing they’ve ever seen.

Why?

You’re fine with violence against women but not seeing their bare bodies?

Makes no sense.

I think we watch different Youtubers. Anyway, I appreciated the nudity when I was a teen. :D

reply

I still do. 😊

I don't want nudity in creepy ghost stuff, but then you rarely get it there anyway. But if I'm watching a slasher there damn well better be some!

reply

Nothing wrong with a creepy ghost sneaking up on a hot naked babe in the shower. 😊

reply

I guess if I was a ghost I'd do it! 😊

reply

I definitely would. 😄

This been a MAJOR complaint of mine ever since people complained about that sex scene in the Friday The 13th remake. People was almost offended, which i thought was fuckin WILD.

reply

I agree. And whoever complains about seeing Julianna Guill naked needs a strait jacket.

I personally don't like it. Nudity doesn't enhance the scare factor of a horror film. Same can be said with blood and gore to a point.

Several directors, actors and fans disagree.

They state that showing a victim vulnerable in a scene makes it more terrifying and a nude woman is very vulnerable.

Plus, sex — and nudity — sell.

reply

They can disagree, but I personally (and I'm sure there are others) feel that nudity does little for horror films other than an excuse to see nudity in the first place.

Sadly nudity and sex does sell, but it is unfortunate it is included in mediums it is not needed.

reply

It’s needed in all mediums.

reply

I respectfully disagree.
