Your top 5 movies

Year & genre don't matter.

Personally -
Pulp Fiction
The Man From Earth
Empire Strikes Back
The Departed
The Dark Knight

Need something to watch and I figured this would be a way to get some suggestions.

Thanks!

Missnat,
That is a very interesting list to say the least. No offense, but do you know that the IMDB ratings on these films are:
6.8, 5.8, 6.1, 6.9, and 7.2? My high school math (and my calculator) tells me that's an average rating of 6.56.

I'm a big fan of b movies so that score doesn't surprise me lol

That's a very interesting list, Sandman. Questions:

U Turn: Is that the 1997 or 2016 film?

Romeo Is Bleeding: Is that the 1993 or 2015 film?

The She Creature: Is that the 1956 or 2001 film?

U Turn from 1997. All kinds of stars. Sean Penn, Jennifer Lopez, Billy Bob Thornton, Powers Boothe , Nick Nolte, Joaquin Phoenix and Claire Danes.

Romeo is Bleeding from 1993. Lena Olin's performance is reason enough to see this movie. She was outstanding.

She Creature from 2001 with the great Carla Gugino.

Here is my Top 5:

1. Hard Boiled (1992) Hollywood still wishes that they could make action films like this John Woo classic.

2. Seven Samurai (1954) Building outstanding characters and placing them in some of the best action scenes filmed, this film has been copied but never equaled.

3. Nightbreed (1990) I was a lifelong fan of this film from the first time I watched it at a friend's house. It has been with me through the thick and thin and I deeply love this film.

4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) Another film that I fell in love with at a friend's house, this is a film that helps me through my deepest of anxiety attacks. I have an attack and my wife knows that this is one of the films that helps me get through them. She has seen the film countless times, and although she hates the film, she watches every time.

5. The Thing (1982) Who doesn't love this film. This was one of the first films that I had seen that had unrelenting gore. I was hooked. I can watch this film any time, any where and see it to the end.

That's an interesting list, Jim. I've seen Seven Samurai, MP&THG, and the Thing. I really liked MP and The Thing.

You got to watch at least Hard Boiled. This is the way that action films should be made, not all that shaky-cam that has been keeping me out of the theaters for years now.

I saw the trailer, and it looks just a bit too violent for me. Thanks anyway.

It's really hard for me to make a list, but my favourite movie of all time is La La Land. The Harry Potter movies weren't perfect but for me they will always have one special place in my heart. Schindlers List is a masterpiece, obviously, just like What about Eve, Gone with the wind or citizen kane. I also love Forrest Gump and Arrival has the biggest twist I have ever seen and I could tell you 50 more
