I only saw it once, circa 1986. The scenario is a family in a fascist society; everyone wears communist-style uniforms. Mom, dad, and early-teen daughter are stalwart party members. Beautiful late-teen daughter is not. She's in her room, rocking out to (presumably) the same song begin played. The other three storm in, and the band members swoop in and take her away to heavy-metal paradise.

shareI grew up with this music and my cousins were huge fans, it was BAD to me because it was so cheesy and musically bland to my ears. It is no mystery to me that this look and music has not aged well. Not to fret though, there are plenty of other 80s genres that didn't age well either. Too many people my age look back at the 80s with rosy tinted glasses. It had its share of crap Pop Culture norms.
