i don't get the reference but i'm sure if i did i'd think that was witty!
i like turtles
there is jewish achievement everywhere, including some things that you might cluck in disapproval of.
jews have won about 30% of fields medals.
nobel prizes:
19% chemistry
26% medicine
41% economics (!)
25% physics
and they are 'overrepresented' in many bureaucracies & academic institutions, & many other areas.
which can be attributed to ashkenazi intelligence. when you look at the prevalence of jews at the extreme right tail of iq distribution, you would expect to see jewish overrepresentation at precisely those sorts of endeavors.
what a stupid thing to say.
jews achieve more. they create more, they build more, they succeed more. & for that they are vilified & hated & their murders are celebrated & their self-defense is smeared. that's no privilege.
the people who have the most privilege are the ones who get into schools where they would never be accepted if they were not that skin color, the ones who get jobs with fewer qualifications, the ones whose misbehavior is excused in schools, whose criminality & violence & destructive behavior is hand-waved away.
100% to all of that. perfectly said.
another gem i saw today.
a group called the 'portland freedom fund' exists to pay bail for bipocs.
they paid the bail of a particularly odious man named mohamed (there's that name again!) adan, who within a week had brutally murdered his girlfriend.
nicholas kristof gives a little summary of the incident here:
https://dnyuz.com/2024/06/15/what-have-we-liberals-done-to-the-west-coast/
Consider a volunteer group called the Portland Freedom Fund that was set up to pay bail for people of color. The organization raised money from well-intentioned liberal donors, and the underlying problems were real: Bail requirements hit poor people hard.
In 2022, the Portland Freedom Fund helped a Black man named Mohamed Adan who had been arrested after allegedly strangling his former girlfriend, holding a gun to her head and then — in violation of a restraining order — cutting off his G.P.S. monitor and entering her building. “He told me that he would kill me,” the former girlfriend, Rachael Abraham, warned.
The Freedom Fund paid Adan’s bail, and he walked out of jail. A week later, Adan allegedly removed his G.P.S. monitor again and entered Abraham’s home. The police found Abraham’s body drenched in blood with a large knife nearby; three children were also in the house.
The excellent journalist nancy rommelman gave a more in depth analysis of what happened in the washington examiner about 18 months ago. a longer piece but worth reading.

very half-assed troll. try harder, as my grade 6 teacher wrote on my report card.
i don't think so.
it's another cultural product where people of color are noble & heroic & pale males are at best tired & misguided, at worst contemptable & worthless. more of the same. with the added bonus that we have lesbian pocs to guide us in this one.
it would have been nice if the franchise that was the biggest cultural phenomenon of my generation & had a mainly male (& mainly white) fan base would have sidestepped that, but instead they seem to have gone right into the deep end.
i don't think it's surprising that the core fan base of a franchise won't sit back & take being treated with contempt. nobody should. i hate this pandering trash. it's everywhere. omnipresent. we swim in it every day.
for most careers outside of really technical areas like engineering & medicine, education is a waste of time.
it's a way of signaling high iq.
if we allowed employers to simply test applicants for general employment, they could identify & fast track gifted people, & lots of people could be saved years of time & exam anxiety & student loans. it's been a while since i read about the history, but i believe the broad-based use of iq tests was phased out due to disparate impact in the early 70s in the us. it can still be applied to technical jobs - google tests their engineers, etc. but for your typical white collar career or any kind of career, employers are on shaky ground using them.
so since employers need a way to find the most mentally adept, degrees are the default means of doing that. it's very inefficient & really a terrible waste of time. i know in my field, where i spent years studying, falling asleep in libraries, hounded by exam terror so i could get a piece of paper saying i'm qualified to do stuff, everything i do could have been learned by working for a year or two in a work-place with experienced people who knew what they were doing. there are lots of people in IT for eg who spend a year or two in some diploma mill to get a piece of paper & (often most important) get a job placement which will send them on their way.
it's all very inefficient & wasteful.
people will always throw out the stats showing that the more years of education & pieces of paper you have, the more money you'll make, which is undeniably true of course. but those people were already the cognitive elite & were very likely going to do well whatever they attempted.
& of course, that so many of the best careers require licensing of some kind is a way of limiting competition. it's in the interest of members of professional groups to draw up the gates once they're inside to prevent more people from coming into their field, which would increase supply & dampen their big salaries. by imposing regulatory requirements or just creating a culture of requiring degrees to be taken seriously, they keep competition out, they make their services more valuable, they increase costs to consumers, & they keep a lot of people from improving their lives because they might not have the time, money or cognitive skills needed for getting pieces of paper.
one of the responses on twitter said this was in brazil, but they probably have white supremacy there too.
he was pointing a gun at people. anyone who could do it is completely justified in taking him out.
throbbing gristle were a formative band for me, i suppose. not so much for their music, but for their overall influence on industrial culture. re/search's industrial culture handbook & their other publications that featured the tg guys (their burroughs publication, modern primitives) were fun & full of the kind of crazy transgressive stuff i couldn't get enough of when i was a 20 something.
it doesn't really speak to me in any way now that i'm old and tired, but i still look back fondly at it, & i think tg's heathen earth is great music to zone out to.
tbh, i never really got too deeply into psychic tv. i believe i only owned one of their releases, which was a house remix album (temple of psychic youth was the title i think). i remember really liking it, but who knows how well it would hold up now.
my deepest connection to them was that i did write to the temple to get plans to build my own dream machine. that was the only way i knew how to get something like that done back in the pre-internet days. i was probably the only guy in my rural area who had his own functioning dream machine.
the guy i wrote to at the temple was really nice & helpful, wrote a nice letter when he sent me the plans. wish i still had it. don't know who it was. not genesis, definitely. some guy in colorado, i believe.
i read cosey's book a few years ago, & came away thinking that genesis was the least talented & interesting member of tg. someone who had no real ability other than to scream 'look at me!'
i really like coil. they made tons of great albums, great recordings. one of the best bands to come out of industrial culture. that's a great group.
maybe i'd have liked psychic tv as much if i'd ever fallen down that hole, but i never did & i don't have the interest in pursuing it now.
