We are all insane.
I try to watch as little from conservativeINC as possible. That is all from Daily Wire.
I recommend Mark Dice and RamzPaul. That is my go to conservative commentators.
I think there were plenty of good moments in season 4. But defending that show here, when there already is an arrested development forum here, is pointless.
I guess I am just a bigger fan of Arrested Development than you are *smug smile*
The boat scene at the end was suppose to prove the joker wrong. Batman did what he did, following a code. Then Joker lost because people in the end DIDNT do what he thought they would do (kill each other given the chance).
Is that why I stopped laughing at Arrested Development season 5? I am currently watching it now, and I so rarely laugh at it, while I distinctly remember laughing at season 1, 2, 3, yes even 4. But the 5th? So rarley.
Yes, that must be it. I just dont get the jokes.
Or... or... or... Maybe... "awkward" and "quirky" jokes are jokes for conformist teenagers desperately dreaming of NOT being just like everybody else who´s only trait are crippling social anxiety. So the only jokes they get are characters having endless wordsalads over and over again.
There are many who have pointed out Disney Marvels tonedeaf jokes that makes everything suspenceful or dramatic fall flatt.
I was amazed to watch Garduians of the Galaxy vol 3 and feel real emotions again. And not just numbness.
You cant have big emotional moments when quirky characters will have a word salad every other minute.
GotG somehow found back the CORRECT blend between funny, suspensful and dramatic. Most Disney Marvel is low stakes (although the world is at the brink of destruction every movie), pointless characters who survive anything until the scriptwriter thinks "Someone should die here because that would be drama, right", and the other writer says "but dont forget to joke about it or something, or the teenagers will snart to look at tiktok again".
I am just so effing tired of the quirky jokes. I dont find that type of humor funny and it destroys any suspence.
I guess I am getting too old for these types of movies, but I dont understand why people want to look at comic book comedies. Isnt it suppose to be high stakes not a buddy comedy. Every joke in the trailer made me cringe.
I dont get it.
Perhaps its for the best that they looked like that though. The concept is asbract anyways. Perhaps making it look like that makes it look more unreal and unfathomable?
We can disagree on what is the best alien movie. Some like the first, others the second, third. People may even speak nostalgic of Resurrection (some seem to say the new born is one of the creepiest aliens in the franchise).
But what I find annoying is how people casually makes fun of the third as a bad movie. Just the other day I saw a youtuber called Heavy Spoilers talking about the alien franchise and just casually dropping how bad the third one is.
Why the third one? Isnt Resurrection also "bad". Now I like the 4th one too. I see it has aestetic and entertaining merits, but the plot is paperthin at times. Its no where NEAR Alien 3. But Alien 3 "because they killed hicks and newt" is the worst movie in the franchise.
That is a STFU moment for me. But if you love Aliens I can get that, although I see Aliens as Ant-iens where "the perfect organism" became cannon fodder. That doesnt mean I dont like it, but if I were master of the franchise I may have done some explaining of how the aliens in Aliens are second generation xenomorphs or something. Having more human DNA than the one in the first.
Meaning: The dad took an alien from the derelict, that one got out, became a queen (first gen) and what it produced was second gen, more ant like xenos. (Yes, I have given this some thought. I saw this movie 30 years ago).
Update: The queen really should be second gen xeno too. I really didnt like that idea either. It was part of the Xeno-ant understanding of Aliens.
Its called aging. She is 59 years old.
I also did some thinking after posting and looked at some list of upcoming shows and it didnt seem so skewed as I imagined. In fact there are mostly male leads that I could see.

So now I am wondering why I feel / felt like it was like that. I guess Disney Marvel, "force is female" etc. may have given me some glasses ;-)
You may be right.
No, they made fun of it in the first scene with Lilith and then I was done with it.
I always saw Tannis was old anyways. But the casting could have been better.
Again, the movie isnt great. Its just not that bad either. Especially in 202X.
I have an attachment to the games. Played them all. And I think its midd. And midd is okay. They say this movie is "the WORST GAME MOVIE EVER", right. And its they hyperbole etc that annoys me.
I have seen Super Mario bros (1993), Ive seen Mortal Kombat 2 (1997) and many more game movies FAR worse than Borderlands. That is my point.
I dont operate with an "on/off" ratings system, where either a movie is "WORST EVER" or "BEST MOVIE EVER".
And adding the plusses and minuses and the current zeitgeist were movies can be so much worse and politicised I liked it.
It wasnt OFFENSIVLY bad. And it looked like Bordlerands. A bit cheap version of it.
<i>"ok this is interesting. most definition explanations of "woke" i see bandied about explicitly include race and (forced) DEI in the definition, in some form or another. i've seen this ballpark definition regularly for a long time. but vulgarity and infantile, rebellion and good and decent ....all these are new ones, especially when you also seem to be explicitly excluding race as playing even an inferred part of the definition, if i am reading you correctly....? "</i>
The woke term is overused really, and could be interchanged with PC or liberal ideas etc. Ive heard people say that the term could be talked about for hours before we really understand it. I think its just a cliche term used to explain left wing propaganda ideas in pop-culture.
One could deconstruct it to: Woke is: 1) feminism, 2) critical race theory, 3) anti-christian 4) anti-family, 5) LGBTQ romanticizing/ sex positive. Its all of that and perhaps most imporantly: its message/ propaganda OVER entertainment.
People dont think a "gay character" or a "strong female character" is woke IN ITSELF. Its when its so CLEARLY written to be just that. It removes entertainment value, and becomes to many cringe.
"you as the counter-activists"
I dont consider myself a "counter-activist". I just wished I didnt have to pay to subsidise this movie when I work and freeze my a.. off. And I call it as I see it. I call it... sigh... woke. Because it clearly wants to propagandise ideas I dont share. And being forced to pay for it... is sickening.
"perhaps explain it to those of us who aren't racist?"
Hmm... I didnt say anything about race, did I?
"OOPS I MEANT those of us who aren't high IQ descendants of glorious civilizations, successful beacons of humanity, righteous believers in the one true king god, all that is holy true and just"
I dont even understand what you are on about here.
"i forgot you are all so extremely fragile and sensitive to the r-word 🤐. my apologies good sir"
I am not afraid of the word racist, racism or any other term. I just didnt bring anything up.
The movie title is vulgar and infantile with a logo that fits the bill. I call it woke because that is a part of the woke narrative. Childish vulgarties to destroy what is good and decent. Although we cross that line many years ago now, some still think its productive to keep making lowbrow nonsense to kick up open doors and pretend to rebel against norms we lost 30 years ago.
I dont know. I havent seen it and will not either. But I think its a clear red flagg for woke on the cover. And if you cant see it, then I guess you are blind.
You both have a point.
Because we pay high taxes so we can subsidise woke bs.
1) I agree. Time will tell.
2) I am watching Netflix Iron Fist now, for the second time, cuz my wife havens seen it. The show was not greatly received if I remember correctly. But I enjoyed it. As I am watching I think on how much better these groundbased down to earth stories are. I reallly enjoyed much of Netflix Marvel. I wish they could make more like that.
Not over the top videogame cut-scenes.
