I always thought Dern’s character was in her early to mid 30s. I was shocked when I read she and her character were in their early 20s.
At what point does it become cliche to have women in roles where they have more testosterone than men?
It flopped because people are tired of seeing women cast in roles that are extremely “manly.”
It was fresh in the 90s.
It’s BEYOND cliche now.
At this point, YES it would be…
Isn’t watching scantily-clad women beating up men a form of soft core pornography?
And now Hollywood passes it off as “empowering” to women…
Surprisingly, it’s NOT woke at all. At not least the first episode. The show seems to be all about the realism. It’s like Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers, except in the air.
Are you really excited about seeing "The Mandalorian and Grogu"?
I used to be a huge Star Wars fan, but I am not interested in the least in this new film. Actually, I doubt it will even get made.
Kathleen Kennedy is banking on a bunch of women and metrosexual men flocking to the theaters to see the cute baby Grogu.
Plus, she likely expects actual “Star Wars” fans to flock to the theaters like they always do no matter how poorly made the content is.
I think it might not work this time though…
Agreed. IMHO anything from Lucasfilm post Disney is not worth watching. And I’m a life-long Star Wars fan.
ILM is owned by Disney now. Even the most recent Star Wars movies have horrible effects now…
I would say old movies. Most female actors today play characters who are basically men.
Sabrina Lloyd said she would consider returning to acting for “Sliders” if the show came back.
Was it because of all the endless “girl power” scenes?
Has Kathleen Kennedy been fired yet? Or is her “girl power” more important to Disney than profits?
George Lucas even said in an interview back in 1999 when promoting Episode I that “Star Wars” was a boy’s movie.
Now Kathleen Kennedy has practically turned all of Lucasfilm into a softcore femdom movie company. Did Rey ever come across a male character that she couldn’t beat up?
What do you prefer the antagonist to be?
Kathleen Kennedy strikes again. She destroyed “Star Wars,” now she’s done the same for “Indiana Jones.”
George Lucas must be devastated.
Total flop. Box office is a disaster. How Kathleen Kennedy still has a job is beyond me.
The government COULD in theory shut down the internet. If there was enough public support to do so it could happen.
No it’s not. Look it up.
