Same here, but extend it out beyond music to movies, TV, and books. I was once much more easily engrossed in all of those things than I am now. I remember the torturous week-long wait for a favorite TV show or waiting for a movie to premiere I was looking forward to. I remember reading a novel from cover to cover in one day.
I've thought often of why this has happened. It could be a loss of youthful innocence, a lack of time, a glut of choices, the removal of anticipation due to the end of waiting for the next episode created by streaming apps. Who knows? I do know the loss of it is sad and something I wish I could recapture.
