Yeah, I thought it was a really solid effort. I do wish it was slightly less sanitized, but alas.
I also didn't think the new version was half bad, but the modern feel really threw me off. I'm also not sure why they started in the middle of the story.
What did you think of Flagg in 94, btw? I THINK HIS HAIR IS SO HOT!!! and this is coming from someone that typically doesn't like that kind of hair style 😂
Glad to see this forum isn't dead after all! I also consider this King's best work, at least based on what I've read of his so far. I actually think this might be my new favorite book overall, even with that less-than-stellar ending.
Of course, it doesn't hurt that Flagg is such a cutie in the miniseries! 😍 I get why people don't like his mullet, but to me it's part of his charm. Now I can't picture him any other way.
This is one thing I don't really understand either. In the book he sort of "feels" his powers coming on and starts randomly levitating, which makes me think he knows what's going to happen with the flu before things really take off. But I don't understand who he is or where he came from...and apparently, neither does he, lol. That's one thing I really wish SK had expanded on. Everyone else in the book is characterized so well, and we get so much backstory on them, and I wish we'd gotten the same amount of detail on the main villain.
But...side note. Can we just agree that Flagg is GORGEOUS in the miniseries???
