The xenomorph in the original ¿falls sleep? while Ripley gets naked and It doesn't hear her, you could also said that's stupid. I don't agree because IS never clear what these creatures are or why they behave like that; they aren't animals, more like weird cosmic horrors.

I don't think the xenomorphs do stupid things either, not more than in the rest of the saga at least. It's a creature without much sense anyway, as it's always killing but never eats it's victims, so it isn't clear why it hunts and kills in the first place.

Yes but I think the killer would have tought about it to just look like a crazy guy, he wasn't stupid.
When they arrive to the planet at the beginning they see the corpse of a non human creature (the Engineer) with non human technology.
But the killer says he doesn't have any proof against him, so the police wouldn't do anything, right?
I hadn't thought about the prison idea, although It is much better established here than in Alien 3.
For Alien 3 also when a xenomorph prevents the protagonist from failing in the elevator and approaches her face, a very forced moment btw.

Not at all. It's a very good horror story which intelligently pays homage to the whole saga, even the abortion of Prometheus, which looked an impossible task. In fact I think Romulus IS the only truly good sequel of the original Alien ( although I haven't seen Aliens in 20 years and I don't remember anything, so...), respecting its Spirit and ideas about a depressive corporative future, the dangers of the AI, etc

I take that as reference to Prometheus, as the OST and the final Monster, which looks like a deformed Engineer, but nothing specifically of Covenant.
