I grew up in the late 90s & early 2000s. Loved Fresh Prince & Will Smith.
He rarely made something I didn't like. He could never miss, for me at least. Heck, I even enjoyed Wild Wild West. Me and 3 other people, probably.
It was the 2010s when "fell out of love" with him. Right around the time he started pushing his kids, especially Jaiden Smith, onto us.
I was thinking maybe Firefly but I don't think Nathan Fillon was a soap star. I don't know.
Is it Farscape, maybe?
Will Ferrell is another one I've never found funny. Painfully unfunny matter of fact.
His best role is still Stranger than Fiction for me.
I was a huge fan of his up until zmen in Black 3. Haven't liked him in anything since.
Heck even the third Bad Boys movie was "stolen" by Martin Lawrence. He was easily the standout of the movie.
Man, I miss Martin Lawrence on the big screen.
Ooh, I remember Katherine from Mock the Week.
James Corden started doing movies after moving to America. I honestly didn't know much about him before then.
Also yeah, all the picks of actors is fair game. You can literally choose anyone.
I get that but our discussion was (and still is) about mainstream actors. Your Vin Diesel, Ryan Reynolds & Sly Stallones of this world.
Like the ''major ones'' whose work you haven't enjoyed in a while.
We only got 2 people saying they stopped watching some of their picks cause of politics. And I personally just don't like James Corden. Sorry not sorry. ha
P.S. Give me a clue WHEN the show came out...
Agree on Rogen.
Also, I completely forgot that Kristen Stewart was in Panic Room. That's one of my absolute favorite Fincher movies. Haven't seen it in ages though. Definitely due for a rewatch.
Last thing I saw her in was that movie with Jesse Eisenberg. Forgot what it was called. But he was like a stoner assassin or something.
Eisenberg is another name that came up OFTEN in the discussion.
Just your 4. Your picks.
Those 15 I listed (plus some of mine) were the most mentioned.
I liked Tatum in the Jump Street movies but that's about it.
I liked Bullock in my teen years. But ya, haven't seen any of her films in ages.
Sony doesn't own Fantastic Four though. 20th Century Fox did. And then Disney bought them. Along with the X-Men. Now they're back with Marvel.
So if it flops, it'll just be a Marvel/Disney flop.
His publicist AND Disney/Marvel probably dropped some major deuces after those comments. 😆
For real tho, I know everyone's entitled to their opinion & free speech and all that but keep 'em to yourself, man. Especially when you're promoting a major release.
This ain't the height of the MCU. You're gonna need as much good press as possible.
Genuinely excited for this. I'm just a sucker for ''monster movies''. I just miss Vampire & werewolf movies in general.
Looooved Nosferatu. Was really let down by Wolf Man though.
Two Tom Hardy flicks that (most) people have probably never even heard of.
The Drop (2014) - An excellent slow burner.
Locke (2013) - A fantastic solo performance by Hardy.
1. How many years have you been posting here? 4 years now. Since the lockdown era. Feels like a lifetime ago.
2. Why didn't you tell me about this place sooner? Cause if I did, you woulda known I was living in ya walls! 🤪
3. Has it changed much over the years? The site's gotten a bit slower & the ads have become even more "aggressive". Hate logging to the site without using Brave browser.
I would've probably enjoyed it more IF they didn't spoil the "twist" of who/what Abigail was in the damn trailer.
My lil sister enjoyed it way more than I did. Mostly cause she had no idea what the movie was about beforehand.
Nah, wasn't referring to quality. I meant it's a movie that Hollywood can say talked about ''current issues''. Which it does, at very surface level.
Part of me thinks, and I'm genuinely NOT trying to make this political at all, but I think they, as in Hollywood, are ''rewarding'' this movie in response to Trump winning the election.
These streaming services don't have enough content to justify their seemingly constant price hikes.
Too much stuff scattered around different streamers.
I find myself spending more time on free services like Tubi or Pluto tv nowadays.
People don't find Kat Dennings attractive? What?
She's gorgeous!
Here's what I learned about this movie:
1) Trans people dislike it cause it's a bad representation of them
2) Mexicans hate it cause it's a "gross misrepresentation" of them & it trivialised the cartel violence & all that.
3) Director & Co didn't bother hiring any Mexican or Spanish speaking actors because they "couldn't find any good Mexican actors".
I think they even shot the whole thing in France.
Basically, this is this year's Crash (2004). As in, a movie made exclusively for Hollywood, made by Hollywood.
