I happen to believe that Kamala Harris is capable of far more than her parents, individually, were. The way she's navigated the political scene has been exemplary and awe-inspiring. Thoroughly vetted, universally endorsed, propagator of joy and vigor.
Karl Marx was a revolutionary figure in economic theory, and I would imagine his influence is discussed and taught by all manner of professors. Personally, I think he's better relegated to the status of poet philosopher of empathy, and not much more... but none of that matters to someone on the Right attempting to score cheap political points since what you're really concerned about is that the term "Marx" now has shadowy authoritarian notions. Almost as bad as an ad hominem attack. It's just a linguistic tactic to brand progressive policies as scary.
Nevertheless, the contribution of Democrats throughout the 20th Century (the first, hopefully, of many more American centuries of prosperity) was to incorporate righteous socialistic initiatives and safeguards into the framework of a capitalist system. Most of these are currently so highly valued by citizens that literally theorizing on their ruination (as in Trump's Project 2025, it does) is a recipe for campaign oblivion. The American people don't want to go back to the Gilded Age of robber baron exploitation.
No, but it's Gd5150 here who should be on your ignore list. It's the bot. Even calculating member posts! Early model.
Once you've seen one of his posts you've seen them all. Peace.
The issue isn't whether her endorsement will sway folks who made up their minds. It's that young folks who follow hip, trendy music and still get excited about pop culture are the demographic who are often sidetracked with living their best lives. Too many are not engaged in the political process enough to reliably get to the polls.
We all know that Kamala Harris and the Democrats have the popular support, otherwise the Right wouldn't have spent the last decade and a half initiating voter suppression tactics and frustrating disinformation.
The beauty and power of Taylor Swift's endorsement wasn't just to support Kamala, but to let her followers know that she considers it cool to voice her opinion on the matter, research the issues and candidates and punch a ballot.
Low turnout is the only achilles heel for the Harris/Walz campaign. Voters come out (or mail in) and Trump loses. Voters stay home, cover their eyes and ears, and President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz's reasonable and unifying underdog campaign to celebrate freedom and democracy and the resilience of the everyman could tragically fizzle out paving the way for autocrat Trump and his corrupt cronies to weaponize the Justice Dept and wreck havoc with the NATO legacy of World Peace and the Environment.
Taylor Swift is an honorable cat-loving patroit of the highest caliber.
Democrats don’t use authoritarian terms like “czar.” This is a term of Russian Putin-loving vernacular.
Harris was tasked with studying the influx of migrants, but the reason is common sense. Trump’s decade-long rhetoric in conjunction with geopolitical events in South America paved the way for the States being seen as a land of HOPE once he was voted out. Refugees know that there is no “voting out” their dictators like Maduro.
Harris knows exactly what causes instability in security, crime, inflation and even personal health… it’s her opponent being given a platform on the world stage.

While Bernie Sanders, a Senator, eventually became a millionaire (not hard with speaking engagements, book royalties and a consistent federal paycheck) he still only owns three modest middle-class homes—nothing extravagent, and never forgot his working class roots in Vermont. Multiple homes and private jets for public officials who are required to travel and criss-cross the country are nothing unusual.
Not sure why you always feel the need to lie and spread hate, but I guess that's par for the course for MAGAts. Neither Marx or Sanders were authoritarians in either theory or practice.
Also, Democrats and leftist Independents do NOT consider wealth acquisition EVIL. We want the path of upward mobility to be even more accessible to more people—as that's the American Dream. We value consumer protections, and detest predatory lending which could be a pathway to excessive debt and bankrupcy. We advocate for slightly higher corporate and top marginal tax rates than we have seen previous decades, but nothing out-of-the-ordinary in the context of American History or Western Civilization.
Such ignorance, lies and malfeasance consistently here at Moviechat. Y'all are weird.
Harris/Walz 2024
BUMP... Still funny. Wish would could have gotten more interviews and press conferences from President Mueller.
While it's important to not be complacent and to punch that ballot or even make a donation, I do believe Harris will win in a landslide.

The polls are inaccurate because likely voters nowadays do NOT submit to them, but the MSM has to have their horse-race narrative.
Democrats will retain, not only the Blue Wall rust belt states, but also each of every state of the original 13 colonies ("Don't Tread on Me" dictator donnie) along with the southwest states and "left coast." I'm even pulling for Utahns to make the right choice and turn Blue. Remember in prior years, Utah primaried Trump with a religious former CIA officer, Evan McMullin. Mormonism has no love for philandering, golden-shower savoring, porn-star reality TV con-men degenerates like Trump. They will earn respect from every American patriot by walking the walk with Harris, rather than just talking the talk.
With the Cheney's and Pence's on board, perhaps I'll cross my fingers for Wyoming and Indiana now too. Harris should get upwards of 350 electoral votes.
Sheeeett... who isn't?! Very easy decision this cycle.
Your argument indicates highly two-dimensional thinking. First of all, you’re projecting onto Democratic Party voters a completely non-existent narrative that’s not being made by them about wanting more “brown people” in some Great Replacement theory. It seems you’re motivated due to a fear of losing elections. Curious since Reagan, the Bushes and even Mitt Romney did relatively okay with “brown” minorities. Perhaps you should encourage candidates to seek out the vote of every demographic, instead of writing these people off as unattainable and repulsive. So lazy.
Your fear is even irrational since illegals cannot register to vote and a path to citizenship is quite a lengthy process. Even if they bear children in American hospitals delivered by American doctors, those Dreamers won’t vote for 18 more years.
You are not judging people by the content of their character, which is what needs to occur with refugees seeking asylum. For every instance of immigrant violent crime, you can probably find ten more cases of some Guatemalan women who walked 1000 miles to Texas border with sick child in arms and proceeded to work the fields of our country picking potatoes, carrots and radishes in conditions that natural born citizens object to. Thank goodness for her! If the Republicans orchestrated their “mass deportations now” scheme for 15 million people, we’d face economic ruin and labor shortages!
The way you project bias and construct your “brown people” argument is why it’s becoming more frequent for citizens to point out racism. I’m not sure when and where it’s always valid to do so… but, I mean, listen to yourself. Can you blame us? “Poisoning the blood of our nation?” This is from a prominent candidate of the Right.
The more funding provided by Congress in periods where reform is discussed, the better and more efficient the process will become of separating the wheat from the chaff.
Obama received protests about his tough-on-immigration policies while in office, so your worldview is invalid. This is an area of easy compromise as long as we maintain human rights and respect human dignity, and don’t campaign with inflammatory rhetoric.
We are, after all, a melting pot nation of immigrants.
You haven’t been keeping up with DC negotiations. The House and Senate have the votes to pass the Bi-Partisan Immigration Reform Bill for border security and more funding, and Biden encourages it. He will sign.
Trump told his zombie representatives like Speaker Johnson to quash it and NOT bring it to the floor. The reason? Because he picked his campaign strategy and doesn’t have the initiative or presence of mind to improvise, unify, or pay more than lip-service to any particular issue.
When Harris is elected, Immigration Reform will come quickly. In fact, it’s been on the Dems wishlist for forever (they approve of spending and funding for all kinds of foundational projects.) The other side only cares about how they can extort and manipulate goals in the form of generating “wedge-issues.”
No, NPCs post goofy and juvenile memes from third party sites. There’s absolutely no need to wallow in ignorance and lack of intellectual curiosity if one can help it. It has no relevance here.
That aside, many posters and lurkers here are quickly realizing that I, more than most, have been sharing viewpoints that are overlooked in a popular-based narrative—left or right.
Think about the conscious motivation present, all, for an organization to create a meme with this sentiment. Does it really sound like something that promotes “free speech” and an assertive attitude, or does it sound like something that discourages dissent and facts-based inquiry?!
It’s the latter. I would even call it unAmerican, despite the Simpsons reference.
It’s the kind of thing that infests TruthSocial and X and seeks to propagate a careless mindset that will help solidify the class divide. The individual or group who creates the meme, or ones like it, do NOT respect their viral audience. They need them, but they don’t respect or fight for them. They’re NPCs to them… a means to an end. It could even be Russian disinformation hackers that fester those platforms.
It’s the same as when Trump confided with his close advisor that he has a mocking outlook to his own supporters—whom he calls “basement-dwellers.”
Well, I’m a supporter of the Harris/Walz campaign, and I’m informing you that you’re perfectly welcome to live underground, research and care about the world we live in. Truth, love and common sense will lead you to VOTE BLUE up-and-down ticket in our current climate, regardless of your personal circumstances or whether or not you were once MAGA. But put down the meme, and pick up the voter pamphlets this time.
Harris/Walz must generate a contrary campaign strategy that's effective against Trump, and this means they need to remain optimistic since he's been so terrifying. Always remember, all, that the unorthrodox campaign is MAGA and always has been. It runs down our country and institutions with doom-and-gloom rhetoric about American Carnage™, giant treasonous conspiracies, bloodbaths, and myriad other non-existent grievances from a convicted felon rapist candidate who was the architect of his own demise and is now awaiting sentencing.
Soviets or other authoritarians might have used an abundance of "joy" as propaganda during actual trying times to subvert a dour national mood, but this doesn't apply here because it's not at odds with the reality on the ground. MAGA are the ones living in the alternate reality. The post-pandemic inflationary period was a softer landing in the States versus abroad, and down to just under 3%. We're the envy of the world. Unemployment low. Manufacturing sector booming. Gas prices down again. The Green New Deal. CHIPS/Pact and all kinds of new tech. Violent crime down. Bi-partisan immigration reform legislation primed and ready for an Executive signature as soon as Trump loses. Very little trouble from refugees and other undocumented. Lower spending than Trump's term, and also MUCH lower as a percentage of annual GDP growth which just gets higher and higher. Infrastructure improvement has been quite noticable indeed. Historic moment imminent with first elected female President. Championship-winning football coach who's Minnesota-nice as Kamala's wingman. Interest rates to be lowered by the Fed. I could go on and on.
Are you to posit a claim that a negative campaign full of bitterness and weirdness is better for the psyche or the American character? Your entire scenario and the link you shared is the actual propaganda. Maybe you should move to Venezuala? Just a thought.
America is a beacon of hope and freedom, and has been a shining "city-on-a-hill" for going on a century-and-a-half now.
There’s nothing wrong with the scene. You’re projecting his emotions as sad, loving or conflicted. He seemed dedicated to his usual goals, but he was just momentarily touched that he found a victim who crawled into his murderous shrine with a sense of inevitability and selfless sacrifice. For a moment, he thought his niece just wanted to see her uncle once before they end their journey together.
Judging from what we learn from the subsequent film about the nature of Myers’ curse, there’s a strong reason to believe that when he kills Jamie Lloyd his task is done and he’s free. Either he resorts to a normal state, expires automatically or offs himself as the last of his bloodline.
^This is what real Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) looks like.
Their loyalty is to one man, and one man only. They’ll believe anything the dude says.
The Biden/Harris ticket was a strong and successful one. In 2020, Trump faced an uphill battle for reelection and it’s no surprise that he couldn’t maintain his support and coalition, barely enough to even to win once in 2016. Trump-endorsed MAGA candidates for lower offices have been losing in off-year elections ever since. Trump claimed fraud in Georgia, but this formerly Red State has elected two Democratic Party Senators, Warnock & Ossoff since then.
You need to step back, swallow your pride, and admit that Trump is not popular or effective to most rational people who observed his behavior of the past decade or more. No conspiracy is this orchestrated and foolproof.
You’re just embarrassing yourself.
Pivot to embrace new leadership in future elections. Nikki Haley could have won on a Republican ticket this year.
The citizens of the United States of America are not going backwards towards chaos.
The real question is why do MAGA and other right wingers blame the Democratic establishment for BLM/Antifa riots of 2020 when those folks were single-issue based activists, rebellious youth or anarchists?
The J6 insurrection, on the other hand, was an actual Executive-level policy to challenge a free and fair election to subvert democracy. Trump even said, “This might be the most important thing I do as President.”
Insurrectionists are not ONLY the folks who breached the Capitol, but also the lawyers, advisors of the administration who enacted the “fake electoral scheme” to pressure Mike Pence to “do the right thing.”
Remind again why Trump’s entire first cabinet refuses to endorse him again?
It’s because he’s a criminal authoritarian who didn’t even care if his minions “Hanged Mike Pence.”
Democrats don’t use authoritarian terms like “czar.” This is a term of Russian Putin-loving vernacular.

Absolutely. Jar Jar even pushed Anakin to indulge in lustful thoughts by cheekily referring to Padme as "pretty hot, huh?"
Both Palpatine and Jar Jar Binks came from the same planet. Darth Maul was just an expendable pawn discovered on Coruscant... a red herring for the audience, but ultimately mentally weak in The Force aside from swordsmanship. The Master/Apprentice relationship is Paps and Binks, and their Force powers seem to work similarly. George Lucas punished the audience who didn't accept his goofy pivotal character by denying them the appropriate payoff. (Aside from Jar Jar being elected Senator representing Naboo and motioning for Palpatine to receive dictatorial powers, I guess.) Lucas expected everyone to be charmed by Jar Jar at first and feel a sense of betrayal later. Instead it was the inverse... as Binks would undoubtedly be far cooler as a wolf in sheep's clothing. So cool, in fact, that it's basically how we all deduced the truth all these years later.
I only disagree with your interpretation of Count Dooku as the stand-in for Sith Jar Jar. I believe Dooku was always intended to be there with a prestigious actor for a human character to just represent a Jedi led astray. It's character-building for the Jedi Order heirarchy of the movies as well as foreshadowing for Anakin's arc towards the Dark Side. It was stated that Dooku was Padawan to Yoda, Master to Qui-Gonn, who, in turn, instructed Obi-Wan and Anakin. This is what heightens the drama when he fosters the droid army and battles a group of his fellow Jedi on Geonosis. Christopher Lee also follows a formula laid out of the typecast villainous actor (the other being Terence Stamp of Ep I) who is actually sort of a good guy who missed his opportunity to divert the path towards dictatorship.
It makes more sense to me that you should, instead, imagine Sith Jar Jar in the role of General Grievous in Ep III. That seems the more appropriate personality, battle tactics, and scenario to fit Jar Jar. He even was officially pronouced a General at the end of the initial movie. The absurd camouflage of a cyborg-droid with functioning lungs and heart seems to represent a tribute to the lost potential of Jar Jar Binks. Grievous' character design is like a hollow shell taunting us the viewers, who are too fickle to deserve any better.
Sure would have been nice to see Obi-Wan shoot his former colleague, Binks, in the heart with a blaster while declaring the weaponry as uncivilized, huh? Again, even more complimentary to the uncivilized behavior of Binks as he was introduced.
"Hello there." Kenobi
I imagine the twist of evil Binks would have been revealed by the end of Ep. II, while Count Dooku might just have been a true-blue Separatist Jedi rather than actual Sith Apprentice. Also a far more interesting twist.
So ironic that suddenly, for MAGA, the sensationalist consolidated mainstream media has ceased to become the "enemy of the American people" when it's a Democratic candidate who's not dignifying their anti-intellectual divisiveness and "gotcha" culture.
The mainstream media conglomerates are the lifeblood of the Trump campaign, then and now, and his entire political success was based on it and in some circumstances, he probably played them like a fiddle to stay in the newscycle. He sexually harassed NBC reporter Katy Tur, and it probably helped his campaign just for the sake of hype. She even wrote a book about it, perhaps clueless to the fact that she was just elevating his profile as well as her own. His voters don't care about unsolicited "pussy-grabbing." They think it's funny.
Democratic voters understand that he does, in fact, have an advantage in this arena considering he's a reality television star and self-promoter. But does it matter as a qualification for President of the United States? If so, to what extent? Is it your only consideration? Do you own Murdoch stock, or something?! You understand the purpose of the Executive office, right? Is this good for morale to have the Commander-in-Chief of the finest military fighting-force in the history of the world to be a repugnant blowhard instead of a measured and studious personality? I know I wouldn't think so were I still in the Navy... knowing his orders are bouncing down from his handpicked loyalist Defense Secretary down the chain-of-command. It would make me feel like instead of patriotically serving the nation I love... I was just some pawn in one of his kayfabe professional wrestling feuds. He didn't even fulfill his oath of office which is remarkably similar to the one I had to give upon enlistment. I mean, seriously... fvck him.
Do working class voters want a notoriety-celebrity as president? If that's their litmus test, and all qualifications regarding representing communities, understanding the law, prosecuting fraudsters, cultivating alliances, appreciating foreign cultures, respecting career public servants and the military, and working with the other branches of government (all Harris and Biden virtues) don't matter, then you're basically just saying... hey... VOTE TRUMP cuz TV SHOWS RULEZ.
Harris will definitely do debates, and probably will give a couple press conferences in Sept./Oct., but personally, I wouldn't care if she didn't. Not in this climate. Screw the talking heads. Maddow & Hannity both! She should put it in her policy platform to reform the FCC... that media consolidation and the current ratings-based culture is too toxic and diminishes the office she serves. The degradation of the press in the last ten years has been abysmal. Perhaps she should just hold rallies, and afterward boycott all but local outlets to send a message.
Democratic voters are not entangled in a cult of Harris or Biden... we understand that they are just human beings who caught the right opportunities during the course-trajectory of a life in public service. We like who they are and what they've fought for, and the means in which they achieved upward mobility, but the reason you don't understand us is because you think the President should be an iconic symbol. Only the Office itself need be held in such high esteem, not the transitional individual who holds it for four or eight years.
I mean, Christ... do I have to remind everyone that Donald Trump's entry-level position in government service was as POTUS? Ridiculous nearly to the point of treason on behalf of majority of 16/20/24 primary voters. Probably not since Port Authority Chester A. Arthur has there been anyone with such a bizarre lack of qualification for the highest office, and Arthur only got there when Garfield was shot dead. MAGA voters are not serious citizens... they're children. I trust the judgement of illegal refugees fleeing from dictator Maduro in Venezuala over some dipshits with a Trump flag on the pickup truck creating a blind-spot in their rear-view mirror.
When Kamala wins, the J6 insurrectionists (including lawyers fabricating the "fake elector scheme") should be deported to Venezuala where they can finally live happily under a "rigged" leader they respect, and in-turn, the hardworking refugees of our border-states should receive amnesty and a path to citizenship. That's the American spirit.

That seems satisfactory to me, I suppose. I know college applicants receive notification regardless—fat envelope or thin envelope. There should always be a path for a qualified individual going forward, and I would assume even in the thin envelope, there would be suggestions and opportunities provided to proceed towards alternate institutions of learning, including a disclosure of DEI policies.
When I said "nobody needs to make a big deal about it" I was mainly concerned with issues of privacy for individuals, whether applicants or administrators. It's not like institutions of learning need to run advertisements and public relations campaigns as if they were St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This isn't charity. I just believe it's patriotic to say, hey, every year lets take some effort to ensure we don't take in every single legacy at the expense of the underdogs who's only difference may have been six points lower on an SAT exam or something. It doesn't even need to be white versus colored either. I applaud JD Vance's selection to Yale Law School and student loan grants as well, and he was certainly an atypical choice since he was a former Marine, doesn't sound like an intellectual, was a hillbilly of his own accord with addiction and family turmoil in his home, etc. However, he appears to be a two-faced scoundrel who turned this opportunity into a path that allowed him to prey on others with his venture capitalism and righteous indignation. If he thinks he'll get ahead by calling Trump "America's Hitler" he'll do it... if he thinks the tide turns about-face, he'll kiss the ring of Trump. He has no integrity. Makes one wonder if he was the one who contributed to his guardian "Mamaw" living in fear thinking she needed to have a gun within reach in every room of the house.
How can one have these experiences and yet decide that some individual voters (who aren't "childless cat-ladies") need to count more than others when he instead could have used it towards credibility with an underclass? It's like they try to lose. Maybe they do. I'm not even sure Trump wanted or expected to win in 2016. It was all a publicity stunt that snowballed.
If that sounds stupid of them... imagine what it says about their faithful followers.
