Yes, it is true he has been sitting on this script for a while, but I think a major reason why is because it was written by his late father, so it probably has some personal value to him. However, I rather enjoyed the movie, but it definitely is not Fincher's best or worst. As for being a bomb, I would say in a normal year even with positive reviews and word or mouth, the general public just would not care to see it. I mean the movie had a budget between 20-30 million (which is very small considering it being a Fincher film) and even during its brief theatrical run with lackluster new releases and scant other choices, the movie did not even crack 100k. Hopefully, more people will see it on Netflix. But I am guessing it will get several award nominations which will add to its popularity. Clearly you have not seen Panic Room. At least Liotta was cast in a respectable movie that will be coming out (The Many Saints of Newark) which is a prequel to The Soprano's. Also Liotta at least puts efforts into his roles where as Willis looks as if he barely has a pulse. While I did not particularly care for Zardoz, it is a very unique movie and there is no movie that is even remotely similar to it and we will never see another movie like it. That being said it does have its moments and I was the only person in my family who watched the entire film without turning it off 30-50 minutes into it. Well she kind of did have 50-cent-like DNA after being shot she fell backwards down a shit ton of metal stairs and ended up falling on her head, which when the scene cut already had a puddle of blood under it. Lo and behold she is still conscious as the movie ends. Yes, it is a major problem since it determines the conclusion of the film. Also yes, if you point a gun at a police officer when they order you not to they will open fire at least several times and since there was three officers 8 bullets sounds about right. The only loser here is you. The guy tried to have a decent discussion with you and actually used facts and all you had to combat him with was name calling and sprouting unsubstantiated rumors and false stereotypes. He directed Elle a few years ago, so it is possible. Yes. He has said some pretty offensive things regarding race. I do not have time to go into all of it but a great deal of it is repulsive and makes me question how he is still able to continue working. Replace Orlando Blood with Zac Efron or Dwayne Johnson and you are correct From what I understood, I think the Wheboy's mother Blanche said they were 4th generation, meaning they were one of the original settlers in the town and possibly help create it. Also there were subtle clues that the clan was inbred (many of the member being everywhere around the area and I think Bill was involved with Blanche. He was coming out of her room in the middle of the night at the house when he was shown to own his own property). Plus the Blacklege's were seen as outsiders. I am just going by what I have heard in several news sources and by quotes that Boyega has admitted to. I agree some people are destined to make it big while others are not. I am shocked that Dwayne Johnson is as popular as he is despite his lack of acting skills and extreme narcissism, while Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown are still struggling to be household names despite their amazing talent. But, I will disagree with you on Blade 3. Yes, they pushed Wesley Snipes out to make room for Reynolds and Biels which was a stupid idea, but due to how Snipes acted on set, I cannot blame Goyer and the producers for doing what they did. I'm fine with a black Bond, but just as long as Boyega is not a part of it. He really comes off as arrogant, ungrateful, and uses the race card as justification for everything. He blamed Star Wars producers for not protecting him from online trolls. He complained that his character was diminished in the last Star Wars film because the producers are unintentionally racist. Also he said that he does not watch movies or tv shows if they do not have African Americans in them and cited Game of Thrones as an example. I am not a fan of Game of Thrones, but that show does have African Americans in it, just not as lead characters. So he comes across as conceited and selfish and blames Hollywood for his failing career (he along with Daisey Ridley was not able to make any major successes outside of Star Wars) by saying they set up black actors to fail or they do not offer him good enough parts. Yes. He was offered 3 million for four days of shooting and refused saying he wanted 4 million. Stallone then called him greedy and lazy on twitter and cast Harrison Ford instead. Yeah, but even if he did it would all be for nothing, since he is either shot by the police and possibly dead or arrested judging by the sounds we hear. Yeah, I am seeing it now, I guess I just did not catch it. I still think he should of made more of a pivot toward Penn to make it more obvious. Not sure why you are spelling it rump. People that hate him do not even call him that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtqp-RUw87M Her flat delivery. Failing to give her character anything (I actually no nothing about her character where as with Wahlberg and Cohan I actually do). How was she natural? She seemed completely stiff and uncomfortable. While I do particularly care for Rousey due to other issues I won't get into now, I went in hoping I was wrong. There is no "you-issue" as you claim, I just thought casting her was more of a gimmick considering she did not give a good performance (at least when Soderbergh cast Gina Carano in Haywire, she actually attempted to build her character and did not do a bad job). Rousey in my opinion was the worst part of the movie. Her acting was terrible and she was for all purposes being herself, so I could not buy for one moment the character she was suppose to be playing. Also they kill her off half way through the movie probably, because she was the least talented of the cast. She can fight, but so can Iko Uwais and he can also act. Crowe has every right to criticize De Niro for his film choices; they are terrible. It has gotten to the point where De Niro stars in a bunch of movies and if you are lucky maybe one will be decent. In addition to his choice of roles, he mostly phones in his performances and clearly does not care. Crowe on the other hand usually gives it his all and for the most part picks good, but sometimes unconventional films. De Niro is mostly known for his juvenile political rants. He has become a joke and a very unfunny one at that.
