I don’t have a huge collection , maybe 200 or so , but it will increase considerably when my mother and an older family friend both shuffle off this mortal coil. The collection of my old friend will be an interesting addition, it’ll be funny to see his Louis Prima collection next my 70s and 80s punk albums; but he does own a few works by The Doors on vinyl.
I hear ya, the artwork was always an attraction and motivator to collect these relics of the past. Though I didn’t follow Iron Maiden much after the 80s, the band always produced interesting art on its covers— just secured the “Piece of Mind” album; “Killers” is next.
Other recent acquisitions: Metallica’s “Master of Puppets”; Public Enemy’s “Apocalypse ‘91: The Enemy Strikes Black”; Conway Twitty’s “Hello Darlin’”, The Cure’s “The Head on the Door” (pleased with this one though it has a few scratches on the last few tracks)
