Most of it is automatically generated nowadays, or will be soon. Like scenery in games that is organically generated (like in Minecraft). I sure hope so because I don't give an iota about backgrounds anymore, as they are so commonplace.

There is no error in your interpretation and nothing wrong about how you or others feel about the depiction but the practice is normal from a producer's perspective. All I am saying is that it's a money driven process.
